Here is my bit: This restaurant a simple, organic, unassuming restaurant. Wholesome. Best place for a vegetarian to eat. No bells and whistles to dazzle your eyes but food to tantalize your palate. I made a mental note to try everything on their menu. I liked it that much. The layout is very simple. The furniture is glazed cedar and chrome diner style. The menu board is a throwback to the old blue acrylic boards from back in the 80’s. The color of the interior is warm and friendly and with the huge glass panels it feels light and airy and not like a hole-in-the-wall kind of place. The background music is tasteful and not intrusive. Enough for you to enjoy and still have a conversation without having to shout. The service is quick, friendly and discreet. Though I think they should wear dark pants and light long-sleeved shirts. T-Shirt makes you judge the service before you experience it. Suggestions for improvements: (1) Don’t touch the food, it is great as is. (2) The owner sits at a table next to the counter and that is fine. Just try to look like a patron. Do not look overly comfortable like you live there and can show up in pajamas. Look like someone who another person will want to come and sit at the table next to you. Tuck your shirt in and take the hat off. Look like a businessman at work. (3) Move the garbage receptacle away from the counter next to the cashier. This way when someone is on line waiting to place or pay for their order they don’t have to see people disposing of their trash. It will also lessen congestion in that area. No one likes to bump shoulders trying to place an order or pay for their food. (4) The sign outside needs an overhaul. Had I not known that you are a 100% vegetarian restaurant I would have thought you were a health food store and kept on driving. The sign that says Dosa Hutt is way too small. And the healthy/fresh/food sign is way too large. Make the Dosa Hutt sign larger and anything else 80% smaller so that it does not look too crowded. I will definitely return to...
Read moreThis has been our go to dosa spot and they never fail to disappoint. If you’re dining in, you order at the counter and they bring out each dish to you with the smaller dishes first (like pani puri), dosas later, then lastly desserts and teas if you ordered. This most recent time we realized we never got the gulab Jamoon we ordered and paid for until we got home… but it’s also on us for being overstuffed and forgetting we ordered dessert! Today we tried out different items from their menu from what we normally ordered - we’re so grateful for the employees patience with us as we asked what the different things were.
We ordered both the pani puri and Dahi Batata puri with the latter we learned was served with yogurt as opposed to pani (which is water). We all liked the pani puri one more we ended up ordering another one after our dosas came!
When it comes to dosas we usually order Mysore Masala Dosa because we love spicy, but to change things up a bit I ordered the rava mysore masala dosa - which is essentially the same thing BUT the batter is different. The rava is a bit crispier and I prefer it the regular dosa! We also ordered the paper dosa which came out being served on their tiny paper tray and being the entire length of the table!! Everything was so good and we ate everything in minutes.
We ended the meal with some masala tea which we were able to order without any sugar! All in all, an amazing spot for dosas and we will be...
Read moreIt was my first time to this place and decided to eat here based on the reviews but definitely the last time eating here. Here are my reasons There is NO customer service. You go order yourself, throw your plate and go pay The presentation is extremely messy as they give you the item and chutneys all in one plate so there is a moist chutney base on your dosa or uttapam. Gross They give you sambar in a foam cup. A very small foam cup. Based on the reviews and owner's response the owner has mentioned about NO EXTRA CHARGE for sambhar, howerver I was charged 92c for the itty bitty tasteless Sambar. Definitely feel being lied to. The podi Idli that we ordered came out burnt. Really? To top all of these off there was hair in my food. I higly doubt the hygiene inside the kitched. My friend and were saving our appetite to get it killed. Please DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS PLACE.
I have edited this review after owner's comment. FLASE ACCUSATIONS??? ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW? For some reason I am not able to attach a picture here but if you go on yelp its the same exact review with a picture attached.
Also, in one of the previous reviews you have mentioned about NO EXTRA CHARGE for sambar and who gives that little sambhar anyways?
You need to learn and take the criticism to improve your business rather than trying to prove a...
