I tried this location for the first time and was very pleased with my experience! The owner was present which is always a good sign in my opinion. She was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The staff was also very helpful and friendly! I am not Indian or Asian but I love trying new dishes from different cultures. I tried a few popular Indian dishes like the butter chicken, paneer saag, chicken lollipops, and garlic naan. But also tried some new dishes like the pani puri, which the staff actually showed me how to eat and prepare, this was a favorite for sure. I also really enjoyed the chicken biryani which I've never tried before. They have great dishes for sharing with large parties like their veg and non veg platters, which give a good variety of flavors. Since it's also Asian fusion, they have Chinese food options as well, we got the chicken dumplings, chicken Hakka noodles and spring rolls. They were excellent. The ambiance is beautiful inside. It's hidden on a. Side street off of hillside Ave, you walk down a a set of stairs and it's beautifully decorated with florals and lights. Excellent for a lunch during the week or weekend get together with a large party! Oh and their desserts were delightful! I tried the malpua pancakes, chocolate lava cake with rose petal ice cream and carrot dessert. All were delicious!!

The food is pretty good but can’t give it two stars due to two glaring issues they should consider remedying immediately. 1) the rice portions are WAY too small! A tiny little scoop of maybe a quarter cup of rice for a meal that is mostly liquid. Do they expect their patrons to drink the liquid of the meal? Especially when they give such a small portion of meat/cheese in it (chicken tikka or paneer tikka masala). Had to ask for and pay for extra rice in person but forgot this when ordering to-go so wasn’t enough food for me and felt hungry after! Considering the high price of $18 this is unacceptable. 2) just because i am white does not mean I have no taste buds or can’t handle heat. Do not assume I want it mild! The dishes I received were bland due to zero spice level. I know they can do spice because when my brown skinned SO asked for his dish to be spicy they made it very nicely spicy for him! It’s doubtful I will give this place another chance when there are so many Indian restaurants in the neighborhood.

I recently dined at Aanch Indo Chinese Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with my experience, this restaurant offers a delightful fusion of Indian and Chinese cuisines that will satisfy any palate. The ambiance at Aanch is cozy and inviting, with tasteful decor that beautifully blends elements from both Indian and Chinese cultures. The lighting is perfect for a relaxed dining experience, and the seating arrangements are comfortable and well-spaced. The menu at Aanch is extensive, featuring a variety of dishes that cater to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences. I started with the Veg Manchurian, which was perfectly crispy and coated in a tangy sauce that had just the right amount of spice. The Chicken Hakka Noodles were another highlight, offering a delicious combination of flavors and textures. For the main course, I tried the Paneer Chili and Szechuan Fried Rice. The paneer was soft and flavorful, and the rice had a wonderful kick to it. The service at Aanch was exemplary. The staff was attentive and courteous, providing prompt service without being intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations based on our preferences. Considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience, Aanch offers excellent value for money. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Aanch Indo Chinese Restaurant is a gem for anyone looking to enjoy a unique culinary experience that combines the best of Indian and Chinese cuisines. The delicious food, warm ambiance, and outstanding service make it a must-visit. I highly recommend Aanch for your next dining...

Ambience Can't Save the Experience Anymore. We've been long-time patrons of this basement restaurant—for years, the incredible, unique decor and ambiance have been the only reason we kept coming back. Honestly, the food has always been mediocre at best, and the portions consistently small, but the overall "experience" was what our kids always loved. It was a trade-off we were willing to make. However, our most recent experience—ordering take-out/delivery—was a complete disaster and has finally convinced us that we're done. The food was typical as we've had, and the prices were even higher. But the most frustrating part was the portion size. It seems the restaurant is drastically reducing take-out portions compared to dine-in, without any warning or disclosure. We received even smaller portions than the notoriously small plates we were used to, despite paying a premium price. It feels like the restaurant is actively taking advantage of consumers with this deceptive practice. What used to be a charming, if overpriced, experience is now just a cynical cash grab. The unique decor isn't worth the shrinking value and disappointing meal anymore. This is our last time...
