Tacos are not suppose to have Cream, Tostadas yes, tacos is a different menu item. Tired if seeing these fake business owner sell fake produce as I have seen many times.
Literal these dudes are only in it for the money without maintaining the authenticity of Mexican Culture. All gentrified people that do not understand or know of what Mexican culture is because it is " OMG very cultural".
The owners are either not Mexican or are but are destroying Mexican Cuisine. Regardless if you call yourselfs Illegal Taqueria. . People support the wrong type of business.
Edit:
of course I understand culinary, & about seasonsing foods & authenticity I can assure you what I post is authenticity & nothing but the trueth in my post. If the trueth hurts, improve or stay ignorant. But all you doing is robbing people 💁🏽♂️
To put it simply that hopefully you can understand what your doing to mexican gastronomy.
It is like explaining/demonstrating the state of Jalisco Mexico using the culture, art, , clothe, music from Veracruz Mexico.
To coment your "you probably only went to one region or your next mexican or your next Mexican" is funny . To educate you,
what Makes Mexico unique is every state has their own unique cuisine, Art, music, clothes, Dances Ect. I can go on to educate a fake business such as yours but you will never know nor actually appraicte Mexico. Because you do not care 💁🏽♂️.
You are mixing Mexican Gastronomy & labeling it as a "Taco" when really it is not.
Your just care about profit rather than actually promoting what true Mexican Authentic food is.
Your in a gentrified area that is the only reason you are thriving, people who do not know. Instead of educating them you making a fake gastronomy of Mexican Food.
If you had Mexicanos, que si saben de la comida tu ni tendrias Negocio, you wouldnt be in business as your food is false advertisment 💁🏽♂️.
Hope this answered your question 😁 .
Eat at your own risk, NOT AUTHENTIC...
Read moreBrooklyn isn’t short on taco spots, but Ilegal Taqueria plays in a league of its own.
Tucked in Bushwick, this spot delivers the kind of Mexican flavors that make you rethink everything you thought you knew about tacos. The beef cheek is melt-in-your-mouth tender and bursting with flavor, but the real stars? The tripa and chorizo tacos.
For the uninitiated, tripa means intestines, and at Ilegal, they turn it into a crispy, flavor-packed masterpiece. I ordered mine extra crispy, and they were absolute perfection—deeply savory, rich without being overwhelming, and crackling with texture in every bite. They’re a must-try, and for good reason. And then there’s the chorizo—smoky, perfectly spiced, and hands-down the best I’ve ever had. If there’s a taco hierarchy, chorizo reigns supreme here.
Oh, and the burritos? Phenomenal. There were four of us sitting at the bar, fully committed to sampling as much as possible, and by the end, we were stuffed with tacos and burritos—but every single one of us agreed: these were the best we’ve ever had.
Beyond the food, the vibe is just as good. The simple, neo-traditional design keeps things laid-back but stylish, and the cocktails are just as dialed-in as the food. The staff makes you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in, and Mario, the owner, is the sweetest and funniest—always around, making sure everything’s on point.
Ilegal is the kind of place you schlep for—I say this as someone coming from uptown Manhattan. Worth every mile.
P.S. We even left with their cool hats. Happy customers all...
