This review is during the Covid-19 pandemic. This particular Jamaican flavors is by far the best Jamaican theme food restaurant I ever been in. I have been going here constantly trying out different dishes so I can write this review.
This place has no where you can sit down at, you just order your food and leave. During this harsh time period we are reminded only 5 people can come in at a time inside the place, not like it's a big to begin with. There is parking available since there is a mall across the street but most people will just double park in front of the store as always.
Now for the food. They have only two sizes, small and large. I've seen the small size and I am not impressed, so I only go for the large. This particular place will pile massive amounts of food in your dish if you order a large, I'm talking about the dish could look like it's gonna burst out. Personally I love the quality and quantity of the food you get when ordering a large. I eat like a mighty king. Way better than other places where they have high prices and give a little bit of food.
For the seafood. The fish is good, I believe they serve Cod fish it's seasoned pretty well. I never cared for this particular fish but it tasted good. The jumbo shrimp is very interesting I don't have a clue of what sauce they have on it, I was a bit skeptical at first but after trying it. It was on the sweet side it tasted great but I can't put my finger on what's used on there.
The meats. I have tried Curry goat and as you would except the meat is good and tender, great seasoning a tiny bit spicy. But as most Curry goat dishes expect to deal with a lot of bones. The Chicken dish is good here seasoned well, has different sauces you can make it's good.
The best meat dish I had here is the boneless jerk chicken! Man this dish has me under control or something, I just can't get enough of this particular dish. It's perfect! It's seasoned very well, it's so tender a plastic forks goes through it, the presentation of it is overshadows the rest of options. It's like yeah... I want that. I constantly have to wait till they make a new batch of the stuff. It disappears often. It's so addictive especially the taste.
Finally the pricing. A small dish is around $8.00 -$10.00 and a large meal is around $12.00-$14.00 it all depends on what dishes you get some are more expensive than others. They have speciality drinks near the cash register the best one is carrot and the least favorite was sorrow.
If you want good food just come here by a large and it's enough to have for a few meals. It takes me two days to finish one large dish. It's...
Read moreJamaican Flavors has never failed me. Over the years, whether it was a quick single meal because I didnât feel like cooking or catering family event, the service has always been top tier. My family esp especially love that they have an economic option that serves about 8 and you can add (2) protein, a starch, a veggie and everyone gets a slice of cake and it comes with (2) large drinks. Thereâs always so much food left over after everyone eats. Canât beat it.
The space is small and accommodates about 6 customers tailgating each other to get to the counter. Once you accomplish that, it moves along pretty quickly. The workers are nice and itâs seamless.
The hot counter offers all your major Caribbean staples: jerk chicken (boneless and bone on) , shrimp, curry chicken, curry goat, etc. They also have about (2) soup options daily and your baked goods like beef patty and coco bread. No review would be complete without the honorable mention of the Rasta pasta which you can get with or without added options of jerk chicken or shrimp. Baybeeee, let me tell you, this plate is KING. Itâs like a warm hug that puts you to sleep.
At checkout you can add slices of cake or your fresh juices. My go to is a refreshing cucumber ginger that just hits every time. Great food at good cost and with...
Read moreToday i decided to treat myself to some good Island food and when I went inside after the long line I was patiently waiting on outside I was hype and everyone was nice for the most part and the food inside smelled great so I then made my order of curry goat and rice with a little cabbage and a large carrot juice. I paid $21.00 just for that meal which I took home to have in comfort and when I started to try and enjoy my food all I had in my plate to my shock was rice the gravy and mostly all bones maybe like three small morsels of any protein I was so upset. I anticipated on something great and I am so disappointed what a way to throw my hard earned money away left to lick bones with no meat and rice covered in the curry sauce. I will never order anything from this place again. I appreciate the hospitality but my food was prepared with no care and I don't deserve that kind of service. I will not recommend this place in (13441 springfeild blvd) particular to anyone. I cannot speak about the other locations because I never been to them, only the one on Springfield Blvd and I will never give them my business ever I again I am beyond disappointed for my long travel which ended up being a waste of my...
