JERK HOUSE CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT — Restaurant in New York

When I heard there was a place called jerk house my 1st thought was, just another Caribbean Restaurant. Well, was i wrong. This place is absolutely fantastic. Very clean, large selection of food , fantastic prices and the service is outstanding. I ordered the oxtails $18 , typically in a Caribbean restaurants The oxtails get picked through and you get mostly rice , Not here they gave me plenty of Oxtails a nice portion of rice and a Healthy amount of Steamed cabbage (cooked perfectly) and the food was delicious. My brother ordered 2 plates of Brown Stew chicken $16 per plate, one for him 1 for my mom , They could have shared a plate there was enough food for 4 people. The food is served hot it is fresh it is tasty it is not over spiced it is plain and simply delicious. I have traveled to Jamaica at least a dozen times , montego Bay's hipstrip would go crazy for a place like this. The tourist myself included , (although I'm not quite a tourist at this point), would stay in a restaurant that served this Quality of food. If you are looking for delicious Plate of authentic tasting Caribbean Food I suggest you give this place a try. I will certainly be returning, I intend to try the fried shrimp, The red snapper ( in a red sauce)and I must give those spicy wings a shot. As a person who has eaten At many many restaurants, if I had to give this place a rating 1 to 5 (1 being worth 5 being best) I would like to offer them a 6 for Such great service with Such a Great smile....

Was kind of disappointed in this place. We got 2 large orders of jerk chicken and it was decent taste wise however we could tell it wasn't cooked in jerk sauce/gravy and needed sauce added so we asked the cashier for it and she was pretty rude about it. At first she said "we don't have jerk gravy for the chicken, it's called a sauce" so we asked could we have that and she pulled 1 small jerk and BBQ sauce cups out and said "you can have 1 of each". We wanted only jerk sauce but she clearly didn't want to give us more than 1 small cup of the sauce but why not just charge us extra? Who eats jerk chicken with regular BBQ sauce? Jerk is supposed to be spicy and we didn't order anything that required BBQ sauce. It was just so petty that she had such an attitude about that so we left instead of pressing the issue but of course as we ate the chicken, it was decent tasting but on the drier side and not spicy so it definitely needs the sauce if you're a person that's used to eating saucy/spicy...

01/14/2022 in the evening around 7:00 pm on a Friday night one of the lady employees with a HARSH voice was so RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. Before employees are allowed to deal with customers they should take some CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES on how to be POLITE. Customers go to purchase food not to be greeted with an attitude, screamed at or insulted. How am I supposed to know if you DON'T have particular seafood items unless I ask? I kept my composure and just walked out.

If you don't want to serve food or answer a simple question, don't go to work STAY HOME. She clearly was going through something and took it out on me because all I did was walk in and asked if certain seafoods were available that was listed on the UBER EATS MENU as available, so instead of me having it delivered, I personally went to the restaurant to utilize the pickup option instead. EMPLOYEES PLEASE DO BETTER WITH THE CUSTOMERS because y'all are doing the owner a disservice with nasty...
