I really wanted to like this place because we desperately need some quality food in this area, but I was deeply disappointed and unable to finish my order.
The beef was extremely dry and overcooked and almost powdery in my mouth, the pita bread was stale and cold and the sauce which was not a generous portion to begin with was lackluster and flavorless. Heating the pita bread up may have made a difference.
The prices were also very high, considering the lack of quality.
I cannot recommend the restaurant at this stage and can only speculate about some of the glowing reviews. Was there a sudden nosedive in quality? Did I visit the restaurant on an off day?
I always like to give an establishment a second chance because anyone can have an off day, but I see sprinkled into the positive reviews, some sentiments that match my own. One reviewer described the food as "average" and another commented on the sauces "lack of taste". Dry overcooked meat seems to be a recurring theme.
One redeeming feature was the excellent customer service. The people behind the counter were wonderful and personable.
I would say to the owners, we are rooting for you but you have to do right by us. You have a wonderful opportunity to make a profound impact in this community by offering fresh and delicious food. Take the feedback to heart and make the necessary...
Read moreThe first time you visit here you must try the chicken over rice, full stop. The hand marinated flavors of the juicy tender chicken, the vast options of tasty sides, toppings, and vegetables, all paired into an unparalleled dining experience. For 13$ in this economy is outstanding.
At the Jerusalem Falafel House I've met some of the kindest and proud chefs who work tirelessly to make every meal one by one. It's not common to see this kind of service, most restaurants opt to treat orders like an assembly line, but not here. It's all home cooking, you will be able to instantly tell with a single bite.
I come extra early to make sure I can get the best charred crispy parts of the chicken, thinking about it now makes my mouth water. This is a must try stop recommendation for me to all of my friends and family in the crown...
Read moreUpdate (8/9/2025): My previous review was 10 months ago, decided to give this place another try, it was delicious and well made, I got a beef shawarma, fries, salad, soda, all for 10$. Prices can’t get any better than that. Seems like they improved. Moved up from a 3 to 5 stars.
——
Shawarma was quite dry, a shawarma is supposed to be juicy. Garlic sauce tasted off and was a mess, the bottom of the Shawarma was entirely garlic sauce.
Overall, it feels like the shawarma tasted really off.
I gave it 3 star because it wasn’t entirely horrible but it was quite bad, however +1 stars for the affordable prices.
10$ for Shawarma sandwich, fries, and Soda is pretty cool for their lunch special, but I don’t I would go here again.
They really need to correct their preparation methods, ingredient, and overall the way they...
