REVIEWS ARE CORRECT!
I wish I looked at the review before booking this, because they are so on point. (And note: I used to live in NYC so know that it's got it's own vibe...but this place was beyond that)
CONS: Location is 10-15 min walk from any subway station and close by is either fast food or car shops. Outside is loud at all hours with cars, people, trucks, etc. There's no carpet anywhere, so you can hear people walking, talking, doors closing, and the loud elevator announcements at all times. I thought people were right outside my door, but actually were far down the hall. If you don't have earplugs, no way you're sleeping. Front desk is behind thick bulletproof glass, but there's zero security for guests like tapping room key to get in building or up elevator, so anyone could come in at any time. Rooms felt like a halfway house or cheap motel- mine had lotion sweared on the walls, and stains on ironing board. Mine was cold no matter what I did (in Oct so not even that cold outside) Pillows aren't even full-size, but square decorative pillows you'd find on a sofa. Never have I seen that at a hotel. What?? They won't hold luggage after checkout.
PROS: I survived? It had a bed and water? Outlets worked. It had a mini fridge. & at least the linens 'seemed' clean...
People have said 'you get what you pay for' but it was over $300 for just one night for me- so no, for that I was expecting something at least baseline good and for a Wyndham hotel...
Read moreI was hopeful since this was a brand new construction. I was greeted by someone who was hurried, offered a minimum of customer service. He kept looking at his screen until I asked for an update or if he needed further information.I ended up waiting 45 minutes to check in and in retrospect should have taken the offer from trip.com to relocate. The customer service representative could not "find" the payment from trip.com and made it my problem. He offered no alternative. There was nowhere to sit and the steps were dusty and dirty. He eventually gave me an office chair. The room is brand new but there were drywall patches everywhere and the caulking job in the bathroom looks hasty. The black out curtains are too short and don't block out the light. There no sheets either. The door is no soundproofed and you'll hear every elevator beep, door close, human. Our room was only cleaned once despite leaving every morning by 10 am. Only one elevator worked and often there would be a random garbage bag in it.The customer support never told us about the amenities or asked if we needed anything. When we checked out he was on the phone and dismissive and didn't say anything.Opening a new business is stressful but this experience was unacceptable, especially for a 4 day stay. I expected better...
Read moreThe hotel “lobby” has no security and requires no key card access at night, nor is there any keycard access for the elevator. Anyone could come in at any time, which didn’t really inspire confidence in the security of the hotel.
The man at the desk who was checking me in said my room number very loudly into the microphone while I was traveling alone and other strangers were in the lobby, loud enough for them to hear. I requested he not say the room number out loud in the future for the safety of his patrons, and he laughed me off and said it was “okay”.
My room smelled like cigarette smoke but was otherwise clean. Every towel I used had someone else’s hair in it, so their laundry services didn’t seem very thorough. Shower was comfortable enough and the...
