STAY FAR AWAY!!!! We had the unfortunate experience of staying in this so called bed and breakfast. We had planned to spend 8 nights in Brooklyn, but ended up leaving after 4 of them. For a couple of reasons. First, upon our arrival, we had to sit on the front porch steps waiting for Zenobia to get there. We spent 45 minutes watching the locals walk by. Once we were finally let into this bed and breakfast, we were shown up to the 3rd floor where our room was located. The breakfast consisted of day old bakery items and stale cereal. On Day 3 of our trip we learned that there was a hurricane headed our way. We informed Zenobia that we would be leaving, which she told us that she would refund us for the nights that we would not be there. And thank god we did not stay, we would have been stranded in a very scarey part of Brooklyn with no access to food or water. Oh... but she was "still open for business" The last night of our stay, we were about 2 minutes too late in witnessing a shooting. We had the wonderful opportunity to follow the large splats of bright red blood to the corner where the man collapsed. We rounded the corner of where he was just as the police were arriving on scene. Zenobia told us to have a safe trip home, to contact her when we arrived to get the refund. Hindsight... we should have gotten our refund before we left to hold her to her word. All in all... had Sandy not happened, we would have left Brooklyn anyway. Her sight poorly represents what she has to offer. The morning after the shooting, two more people were shot in the same neighborhood. We are very liberal and open minded people, we love to take in the different cultures that different cities have to offer, but this part of town was not safe. Please think twice before you book this bed and breakfast!!! I hope this review saves others from our...

Lovely neighborhood, special brownstone with an owner that is there to help you. We spent 8 nights at Serenity and it provided us the quiet and relaxing escape after the hustle of the day's activities. Subway an easy walk, Manhatten minutes away, (use the yellow cabs if you're coming back at night from Broadway, around $32 instead of the $60 from the limo services) and discovering Brooklyn on foot was the big treat. Brooklyn is a diverse neighborhood that you feel and Zenobia's brownstone is in a perfect location close to Prospect Park and allowed easy walking access to wherever we wanted to explore-and there's lots of special moments in Brooklyn -would definitely stay in Brooklyn again-love it and would return...
