Starbucks — Restaurant in New York

Starbucks is unique in that they call your name and for people of color, this is often an opportunity for them to butcher it. I could conform and change my identity and name just to make it less confusing to pronounce 2 syllables (Hum-Mod). This is often a solution offered to me. But today, it was “Hannah”, and I’ll leave you to analyze why that was pronounced. In the same 5 minute visit, I saw how this trade off for people of color was completely wrong. An older white man took the drink of a younger black woman and the barista, who could have corrected the man because he was still in the store, instead sloppily made the drink quickly for the polite lady. The last 3 times we visited this location the service was off. Overlooked, quality low and slow even though the place was virtually empty.

Last visit my daughter-in-law was skipped by 7 people after she paid for her Frappe. The girl who took her order kept telling the others where is the Frappe after a few minutes but they still took long and gave others their drinks before her. Not to mention that it tasted strange. Not to the expected quality. I will be monitoring and documenting this on our next visit as it seems very suspicious.

We are hoping it is not being done on purpose and especially not due to other unfavorable and unacceptable factors.

I hope this review is taken into serious consideration because this is the only Starbuck in the immediate area.

Ordered on the app, 1 iced drink and 2 chocolate croissants. App stated order would be ready in 7-12 min. Got there in 15, drink was completed, food was not. The young lady at the food made 2 orders ( 7 people on staff) then went to the register, while there were about 4 tickets of food awaiting. 5 mins go by and one of the staff is just walking around, after 10min I ask and magically someone starts to make heat up my order. I asked for a bag and was told 5 cents, I was unaware fast food restaurants are now charging for bags 🤷‍♀️. The quality in this place just continues to decline.
