Las Maravillas De Mexico — Restaurant in New York

I’ve been coming to this spot for years, the food is pretty good average Mexican food. However, I was charged $15 for 2 American Steak tacos. I asked the woman behind the counter how much is 1 taco & she stated $7. I asked her where on the menu does it state this as I’m from the neighborhood & have been buying from here for years & have never ever paid $7 for tacos. She stated she can’t show me because that’s what she’s been told to say then says that u have to add $1 extra for every item on the menu. I’m looking forward to speaking to the owner to explain why is 1 taco $7 when an order of 3 range from $13-$15. This is super ridiculous. Pricing should be reflected on the Menu! Not “what I’ve been told to say”!! Y yo hablo español también.

Nice looking space inside, I would think that a place with photos of Pedro Infante would have been better but was very disappointing. Ordered a burrito plate and a shrimp plate. Beans straight from can,with no care and tasted at least 3 days old sitting out on stove. Large heaps of rice that was so undercooked it was hard and unedible. When we informed the waitress that the rice was not cooked , she smiled and offered no apology, no offer for a new plate, not even one dollar comped from our bill.! They also are playing mostly spanish musica that is not mexican. They should actually play mexican music in a mexican restaurant. I'm Mexican and would never eat here again...

I want to make a note of the following experience: I ordered 4 mini tacos with steak and chorizo to go. Despite asking for the meat to be mixed, I had to settle for two of each taco. When I requested a fork and salt to mix the meats myself, I was informed that they were not available. I suspect that they did have these items but chose not to provide them because I was dining out. I would have been willing to return the fork if it was meant for dining in. Having to separate the hot meat by hand while on the go was quite disappointing.
