DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. NOT WORTH IT.
TL/DR: Terrible service, terrible atmosphere, terrible food. Don't waste your money on this "healthy" crap and go somewhere else instead. Other places do better for cheaper.
This was my worst experience at this place. I used to come here more often when they first opened up, but it has changed and not for the better.
I had ordered a California Club turkey burger with french fries. It took over 30 min for me to receive my food, and it wasn't even busy at the time. After 20 min of waiting, I went to ask one of the workers about my order, and turns out they hadn't even started cooking it! Had to wait an extra 10 min for them to make my food. On top of that, the worker never told me that my order was ready so it was just sitting there on the counter for 5 min! I was standing right in front of her the whole time so she knew my order, yet didn't think to tell me it was ready? Terrible service. Eventually the cashier called out the order and handed it to me.
When I got home, after being so hungry for waiting so long for my food, I was so disappointed in what I received. The fries were basically RAW! So much so, that you can see in the picture how pale they are! As if they were just taken out straight from the freezer and just put in a microwave. Whatever oil or flavoring they used tasted AWFUL, never had any french fries smell or taste like that. I couldn't eat them, and neither could any of my family members, who all said it tasted terrible. Had to throw it out, what a waste.
The turkey burger was very small for being $16. It was only about the size of my palm, the same size as a cheap mcdonalds burger. I had made sure to ask the worker to please put extra mayo on my burger. When I look to see inside, there wasn't a single drop of mayo on it! Mind you, mayo is a literal ingredient listed on the menu for the California Club burger, so how can you forget that?? I had to add my own mayo from home. The burger itself tasted alright, but had a similar taste to the fries. If it wasn't because I was so hungry, I would have taken it back to get a refund.
Also, there was no a/c inside the store despite it being 98° and humid outside. Which I had to wait inside for over 30 min. Absolutely ridiculous.
This was thoroughly the worst meal I've ever had at this place. It was so unpleasant and unenjoyable. I will never be coming back. What a waste of time and money. I'll go to HEALTHY FRESH instead on the other side of E Tremont. Now THAT is a...
Read moreMy daughter and I visited this healthy focused restaurant and I must say that it was a pleasant experience. I, for starters, I'm not too health concious when eating foods. If I like it. I'll eat it, but my food has to be visually appealing, and definetely delectable. MMG filled both of my needs and beyond. My daughter and I, both ordered the Teriyaki Grilled Chicken Stir-Fry and I must say that it was absolutely delicious. The portion was quite hefty and flavorful. This dish has a tasty blend of grilled chicken breast chunks, portabella mushrooms and other vegetables lusciously served in a rich teriyaki sauce over brown rice. The menu is extensive, offering wraps, salads, pasta, soups and sandwiches. Service was great, atmosphere was pleasant, eating area is spacious and clean. Their prices are moderate, considering the food portions served. The restaurant houses a fitness center and at first glance the restaurant itself seems like a huge gym. To take home, we ordered 2 Chocolate Peanut Butter Big Protein Shakes. I must admit, that I ordered it because I love the chocolate and peanut butter flavor combo. But this protein shake, was the most delicious, rich shake I've ever tasted. They have other flavors to choose from, like Chocolate Banana, Strawberry & Banana, Snappy Apple and Tropical Paradise. They also have all natural fruit smoothies in a variety of flavors like mango, pineapple and peach. Muscle Maker Grill restaurant is located in East Tremont Avenue, close to Miles Avenue in the Throgs Neck section. It's out of public transportation, so keep this in mind. If you're health minded, or just wanting to check this restaurant out, I absolutely recommend...
Read moreSo I came in for lunch before work and I ask the counter girl how long would it take for food to be made. They said about 10 to 15 minutes so I figured I had enough time to eat there. But after 20 minutes of waiting i decided to get it wrapped to go. The counter person puts the tray into a paper bag. Proceeds to fold the bag over 22 times then staples it. It was a bit odd but I just chuckled and kept it moving.
As I was leaving I realized I had a couple minutes to spare and I was starving, so I sat down and attempted to eat the wrapped that I I JUST PURCHASED. It was at this point the manager on duty approached me and informed me that the owner, Mario has a policy where paying to go customers are not allowed to eat in thier empty restaurant. Mario doesn't like the plastic containers in his counter top.
I asked, Is this a fast food restaurant or a sit down restaurant? He couldn't answer. There are no waiters. No servers. No bus boys. There's a bar counter and open tables. You order the food at a cashier. But you're supposed to figure it out and DO NOT EAT THIER FOOD AT THIER TABLES IN THIER RESTAURANT. LOL
The saddest part of all this...the food was fake decent for health food.
But wow. Another owner with protocol over common sense. Everyone needs retraining. How do you come and berate a customer in the middle of his meal after he just paid for it?
The manager was a jerk but THEN I REALIZED it's probably bc he has to work for a bigger jerk that makes him go after paying customers who want to sit and eat in thier restaurant. good luck to you all.
What a time to be alive. On to...
