Uncle Louie G — Restaurant in New York

I recently visited Uncle Louie G for my birthday, excited to indulge in some delicious desserts with a friend who shares my love for sweets. Unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable.

When we arrived, there were a couple of people ahead of us, but we didn't mind waiting because we were thrilled just looking at the menu. However, when it was our turn, the experience took a nosedive. We were greeted by a young woman who seemed visibly annoyed. My friend placed her order first—a crepe. The server informed us that the batter had to be made, which would take some time, but she said it with an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing her.

The vibe was off, and it only got worse when I placed my order with a gentleman for two waffle sundaes. This, too, seemed to irritate him. While I understand that crepes and waffles may take a bit longer to prepare, the lack of professionalism and courtesy was shocking. If these items are going to be such a burden for the staff to make, they shouldn’t be on the menu.

What was supposed to be a special birthday treat turned into a frustrating and uncomfortable experience. I left feeling disappointed and unwelcome. It’s a shame because I was really looking forward to enjoying the desserts, but the staff's attitude completely ruined the moment. I even refrained from ordering anything else because I didn’t want to upset...

My family lives very near To Uncle Louie and we were very excited when the ice-cream shop came to the neighborhood. The ice-cream is really good. I have been really happy with the service until yesterday night. For the first time I felt like they were extremely cheap with the ice-cream. I don’t check the containers because we frequent often and they are usually generous with the servings. We ordered 4 pistachios, 1 cookies and cream and 1 mint chocolate chip. They were very generous with the last two but extremely cheap with the pistachio ice-cream. This is not cheap ice-cream so I must say I was really disappointed. I thoroughly regret the tip I left the young lady. I just hope they see this because everyone’s servings should be the same. When 6 people in a household order ice-cream we should all be served...

I am writing this as soon as I leave at 8:32 pm. I wanted to get some ice cream after eating and I saw this spot down the street from where we were eating. Before I walked in I examined the menu outside and as I was walking in. I heard one of the employees who seemed to be talking to a friend that happened to walk in “oh they are coming in, unfortunately.” Mind you there were three employees of which all were talking to the person who was not a customer and was just standing there.
