I have been trying different slices of pizza around the Lower East Side in hopes of finding a slice that is good and under $4 per slice. Not even great, just good. It has proved much harder than you might think.
Even if a slice blows me away, it's like north of $5 and that just goes against the whole ethos of pizza by the slice, at least to me. A great slice of pizza has almost become a special occasion only for me, which is criminal.
As I walked into Little Gio's, the first thing I noticed was a $3 slice, $3.50 with a topping. The 2nd thing I noticed was a picture of the owner(?) with a So Far Gone era Drake in the establishment. Respect.
The respect was immediately chin checked when they said it was a $5 minimum on a card after I ordered 1 slice of cheese, but much to Gio's chagrin, I had cash on me.......They forsure preferred that ahaha I just wanted to work "chagrin" into this review.
I was lowkey pissed at the $5 card minimum, but this slice of pizza was actually EXACTLY what I was looking for. A thin crispy crust on the bottom but not burnt, with hangtime when you pick it up, and a great cheese to sauce ratio. My new goto spot for a quick, cheap slice.
It would be interesting to do a full analysis of the pizza by the slice market pricing over the past 10 years. I'm sure someones done it though. I feel like everything has been done at this point.....
I have seen multiple other reviews across Google and Yelp say that they have seen a tip added on their credit card statement that they did not give.... All I'm saying is I could see it.......

Read moreI stoped in, completely on a "humble!"...no lie. But boy, oh boy...what awaited me was the very best pizza I've ever had, anywhere, in my life. And as a U.S. NAVAL VET. I have had pizza damn near everywhere that makes it. The staff was engaging and funny. I had two of my favorites, a slice of Sicilian and a slice of buffalo chicken, complete with bleucheese sauce. I can not began to tell you how good it was. I will be going back very soon, but not...
Read moreThis place charges tips after the fact. They must be adding tips on receipts after you leave and forging the receipt totals. Got a notification on my phone 3 days after visiting here that my account was overdrawn and when I contacted my bank they said Little Gio's transaction had the authorization amount changed. What's worse is we even left a tip anyway!
I thankfully got my money back with charge back but this was really scummy from Little...
