I brought my daughter here for a steak dinner. The waitstaff was friendly and we were seated quickly without a reservation. We both ordered the Rib Eye Steak ($65) which includes 2 sides. A bottle of Saratoga water was $11 which gives you a good idea of how overpriced this place actually is. The fries were fantastic and were the best part of the meal. The cole slaw was good, but maybe a little too sweet for my taste. The corn bread was made inedible by the awful pareve honey butter poured on top of it. Seriously, I love corn bread and I could not even eat it. (I suggest they serve it with the honey butter on the side so you have the option to use it or not). I asked for the steaks to be prepared medium, but mine came to me very obviously rare and had to be sent back for a second round on the grill (never a good sign). My daughter's steak looked medium but was not cooked evenly, so there were parts of the steak that were rare as well. Although the flavor of the steak was good, and I understand that rib steak should have proper fat marbling, of the 16oz steak, a third of it was fat which was inedible. (I posted the picture so you can decide for yourself). Lastly, all of the seating is outdoors and there were flies everywhere, so much so that flies were landing on the table and on our food and we were shooing flies away throughout the whole meal. I don't mind spending money when visiting an expensive restaurant if the experience warrants the price, but for the amount I spent, this was a very underwhelming experience. Basically, Main House is a place where you will pay 5 star pricing but get a 2 star experience. At this price point I would go to Bordeaux Steak House instead, they have never...
Read moreNice experience. Some menu items weren't yet available, but service was fast. Sara did a great job taking care of us. Was only about 3 other tables taken there, so wasnt very noisy. Menu still hasnt been designed and printed nicely, was just a few stapled papers, but the waiter did a good job answering questions and making recommendations. Chicken soup was oily and tasted more like a beef soup, but the waiter readily took it back and off the bill. Texas fries were nice and fresh, and a large serving. Ordered the 1lb ribs, was smoked nicely and was huge, more than enough for the two of us. My wife asked for more mash which the waiter promptly served. Avacado salad was nice and fresh and well presented. Desert was regular choclate suofle, but they were out of ice cream, so they replaced that with 2 fried oreos. Looking forward to coming back when all menu items are available and the chicken soup has...
Read moreWords can't adequately describe this place. But I'll try. Food? Out of this world!! Especially the chicken. I rarely order that, as it's usually so simple. However, theirs was amazing. Possibly the best chicken I've ever had. The rest, as most people know, was as good as advertised. The brisket was yummy, as was the homemade fries, and potatoes (don't forget about the gravy)
Service? Due to COVID-19 they are closed for in-house dining. Yet they accepted my order for fast home delivery. Within 40min of placing the order, hot food arrived. And they even added a nice treat (slice of cake)
I'd been there once before, but fully intend to return once they open for in-house again. Although, I'll probably just order delivery before...
