I really like this spot, depending on who's running the counter. It's a cute local coffee shop with excellent coffee and food. Last time I came here the service was excellent. The people at the counter were polite and considerate. This morning the counter people would not even acknowledge the people forming a line for service. Not so much as a "hold on be right with you" or "are you being helped". After about 10 minutes of being completely ignored I politely asked the older woman at the counter if they were taking orders. She replies in a a rude/aggressive tone "YES WE DO" turns right back around and continues to ignore myself and other patrons. So I left and went to Finas Farmhouse just down the block. Writing this in hopes they do something about it. I like to support local, much rather come here than a Starbucks. Poor customer service has killed many promising businesses, don't let that happen here guys. Willing to give it another shot at some point, and if things change for the better I'd love to change the post. But if not, ill speak with my...
Read moreThis is a cute little mom and pop cafe nestled in a small house along Main Street in Staten Island's Tottenville community. It has a homey feeling inside with various nostagiac decor to suggest you're in some small Midwestern town. The food menu features over a dozen types of savory toasts. My son and I ordered the Mediterranean toast consisting of whole wheat bread, hummus, cucumber, Kalakaua olives, feta, and olive oil. What made this toast stand out was that the bread was baked on the premises in an upstairs bakery. I ordered a hot drip coffee that tasted like a high-quality bold roast. The oatmeal raisin cookie I ate tasted homemade and was very chunky. The place has wifi and indoor seating for about a dozen people. There is also outdoor seating in the back. I like the 60s music that gave the place a hippie vibe. The facade had large Bay windows which let in a lot of sun and natural light. The wooden tables and chairs contributed to the overall rustic feeling...
Read moreIncompetency at its finest. We go in for breakfast at 11 am to be completely ignored by the counter staff for a good 5 minutes. Then, we are told it would be a 25 minute wait for food. We still wait, for 5 minutes for someone to ask us for our order. We sit for a little under ten minutes to be told the oven don’t work, and we say we don’t want anything l, since now the options are limited to muffins and fruit due to the absence of an operable oven. Then the kid has the audacity to ask me IF I would WANT my money back. I’m not going to donate $35 to nothing when not even getting food and wasting nearly 30 minutes of our time; will not be...
