Do not eat here, you have been warned. I wish I read the last review that was posted before this one prior to ordering. We ordered delivery; some Chinese food and some sushi. The Chinese food was fine, standard middling quality. As I went to move to the sushi, something caught my eye. It was a millipede crawling all over the sushi and rolls inside the still-sealed container. It was one of the most disgusting sights I've ever seen and I completely lost my appetite. When I called to complain the woman pretended to not understand English enough to register what I was complaining about. When they put someone else on the phone and I was able to make him understand, he said it was "not possible" - I explained that I was looking at it and it was most certainly possible, he still refused to address my complaint. I figured, no point in arguing, so I hung up and wrote...

My partner and I love food! And to give more perspective I plan to get paid to eat food and give reviews, that’s how much I love food!

I share that to say, the food we just ordered from Masake was not made with any love. The color and of the pad Thai was off. The taste was bland and the shrimp tempura had no flavor. The cutting skills of the smoked salmon sushi, looks so unappealing that we didn’t dare try it.

I’m very disappointed because we were happy to try a new place because their prices seemed fair.

The lesson learned is stick to the places that are consistent with their taste no matter the price. I’m sorry to say we will not be ordering hear again and I wish I could have a full refund.

We ended up re-ordering food from our usual spot. I hope someone else’s experience is better than ours, and I hope you...

I have been going to this place for 3+ years and I always perceived it as a friendly atmosphere and was a regular with the staff. However, I recently brought a Cantonese speaking friend with me and while waiting for our food, she overheard the owners (man and woman) gossiping about me and my friend. They made comments about my race and why an asian girl was hanging out with me. They also commented on how I “never bring the same person to their restaurant twice” and implied I was promiscuous and sl*tty. Felt horrible, like a huge betrayal, since they were my go-to spot for years. Also, I’ve let it go in the past but the sushi is sloppy and often not fresh, meat undercooked, and roaches can be seen all over the store. Eat here at your own risk but I will not be coming back. No food is worth these sorts...

This is a small sushi place on Avenue M. It is a quiet spot to go to. The employees have been there for years, and are quite nice. I am a regular at this spot ( when it is open). I love to order an assortment of individual nigiri and sashimi pieces so that I can sample each taste. This place is usually pretty empty, so it is great if you like some peace and tranquility as you eat. I have spent several hours in this restaurant just slowly eating and chatting with my friends. I have also gotten a lot of takeout from this place, especially since covid 19 shut everything down. They are always timely with my deliveries, and have not gotten an order wrong with me. The food here is inexpensive as well, and when you order sushi like I do, those dollars and cents start to add up very quickly!

The lady was really nice taking our order and the salmon avocado was better than I thought! It was buttery, fresh and ratio of salmon to avocado was good. I’d recommend it! It’s sad to see so many bad reviews when I thought the food tasted really good and the deal 2 rolls with a soup for $10 is a deal you can’t beat! The miso soup is also super flavourful with the perfect amount of salt for me. I was scared to order from here but i’m really glad I did, it exceeded my expectations and the quality was good. The rolls are a good size and portion!
