Today, I decided to finally try the Ave M location, to get an iced coffee and try a pastry. I've ordered from this location before via GrubHub, but today decided to come in person. Its a large cafe, and you can sit in and eat. The food is delicious, and the bread is exceptional. Definitely recommend picking up a loaf if you're in the area and in need of bread. The pastries are good as well. They have a mix of baked good such as different flavored croissants, cookies, and danishes, as well as a variety of flavors of mini cheesecakes, and tarts. My one minus would be in service. Unfortunately, I never got to try the iced coffee here as today when I went to order my drink the girl at the counter said they can only make an Iced Americano. When I asked if they have "iced coffee or a cold brew" she very rudely, with an attitude, and a nasty tone, said "Iced Americano is the same." Firstly, if you work in a cafe that serves coffee drinks, train your staff to know the difference between those drinks. An Iced Americano is an espresso based drink made with a shot of espresso and cold water. I was not looking for an espresso based drink, I wanted a drip extracted iced coffee, or a cold brew coffee, which is extracted from coffee beans ( not espresso beans) as well. Secondly, people come into Patis to enjoy high quality, and expensive food, desserts, and beverages, so when they are spending good money, they really dont want to encounter someone with a nasty and rude attitude. Maybe you should train your staff a little better so they know what they're serving, and how to approach customers. I also work with people, and I would never be able to display a negative, rude attitude at my job, no matter what kind of personal or professional issues I may be dealing with. Lastly, I did want to thank the other lovely staff member who did kindly answer my question, and stepped in when she noticed how rude her team member was addressing us, and when she obviously didn't know the difference between an Americano and Iced Coffee. I dont normally write reviews, but I thought this establishment should get some feedback, as I do enjoy eating the...
Read moreWe are a family of 5 and everyone ordered their own dish. 3 orders came out after 15 minutes. Waited another 10 minutes and went to the counter to ask about the remaining items. We were told that they would be ready soon and that they are busy.
The remaining items were soup (which is dished out from a large pot behind the counter) and salad (which is assembled from prepared ingredients behind the counter).
I could not understand why these things were taking longer than all the cooked dishes.
After another 5 minutes, I went to the counter again. They gave us the soup immediately and told us the salad would be ready soon.
After another 10 minutes, aside from the person that ordered the salad, we were all finished eating. I went to the counter and asked them to cancel the salad. The person at the counter asks, "you sure you want to cancel? I can assemble the salad in 2 minutes."
I told them I did want to cancel and it took them 2-3 minutes to work that out.
No apologies or anything else.
Aside from the poor service, the AC wasn't working well and there were dirty dishes from the previous customers that was never cleared from our table.
Food was really good, but we won't...
