My daughter was bored on a Saturday afternoon and I didn't have the will to take her to a park so a short drive to anywhere and back will have to suffice. I decided to take her to the McDonald's on Merrick. Before we left, I downloaded the app and found a coupon for $3 off $10; perfect for a happy meal with a medium milkshake and extra small fries.
Upon getting there I was pleasantly surprised that they had two drive thru lanes, which I interpreted as they were equipped for a really fast drive thru experience. The lady over the booth taking the order was pleasant and helpful. I told her about my coupon and she confirmed that.my order qualified for the promo and that they will take the code from me at the (next)payment window.
Out of habit, I already had my credit card out by the window and the girl took it and rang me up. When I noticed she didn't ask for the coupon code I had open on my phone which I held on my other hand the entire time, I told her that I had mentioned it to the previous attendant that I had a coupon. She simply said I should have mentioned it to her before she rang me up and there was nothing she could do about it now. I asked her to re-do the order, but she insisted that she couldn't. I then asked she cancel it. She looked at me with disbelief as she yelled to the supervisor "I need to cancel this guy's order!".
Of course the manager came, cancelled the order, and I promptly re-ordered the meal with the coupon. She did this effortlessly and efficiently; hence the reason for my generous 2 star rating. I believe the girl needs to be retrained with a strong emphasis on CUSTOMER SERVICE. I also believe that they should have a better way of applying coupons to orders. A quick note on my order about the coupon by the first rep I spoke with would have prevented this from happening. No one should come to McDonald's and have to leave with a bad taste of customer service in their mouth. Yes, pun intended!

Read moreVery disappointed with what I witnessed. A female employee literally asked an elderly man, a paying customer for 50 cents. The elderly gentleman shook his head yet complied. Employees like that make it seem like McDonald’s isn’t either paying them enough or they’re just not trained to know better. She wanted it for a cup of soup. She had money for her to get a manicure with tips for long nails & silver glitter at the tips yet no money for her lunch. Management needs to enforce to that employees not ask for anything from the customers. This is nerve. Just had to let that be known Lucky it wasn’t me. I’d read her & get management involved. UPDATE: Called the store to get a lil girl to answer the phone not addressing her name, no greeting nor the store: eg This is Dan thank you for calling McDonald’s of Rosedale how may I help you. She just answered McDonald’s. I asked for a manager she said they were busy doing something else. Offered to help me. Told her she can’t I need to speak with management. She actually said she’s a supervisor & she can help. Told her if she was she wouldn’t have answered the phone the way she did to please get me a manager. The lil girl, yes I know she’s not a lil girl, but I’m being nice calling her that. That lil girl hung up on me. Definitely not a supervisor. Now I’m not only reporting this to corporate I’m will make sure tomorrow, Monday, I’ll log in a complaint when everything is open & make a special trip to McDonald’s to report this incident to the management on duty. What I don’t like is I have elderly parents on a fixed income. 50 cents may not be a lot to a youngen however, to an elderly person it’s a lot. When the elderly gentleman asked the McDonald’s employee what she needed it for she coped an attitude & said you have it. That’s another form of bullying. He was uncomfortable & looked at me in disbelief after giving it to her. Tomorrow is D day I will get this matter brought to corporate as well of management of...
Read moreYall I don’t like to give bad reviews, this my first time ever having to wait this long in a drive thru after ordering on the mobile order for pick up. Maybe I’m mad because I’m just hangry. But tell me why I didn’t get my food til 30-35 mins after I placed my order (meanwhile I was stuck at the pick up window with two people in front of me as well) . Mind you it’s Sunday at 6AM. So they taking their sweet time, I’m curious as to what’s taking so long and why all of us cars are waiting for the first car to get their food. so I went inside and there’s 2-3 people that I can see and they’re all moving slow and not taking care of peoples orders fast enough, it actually pissed me off bc it look like they didn’t care and I know they see that line of cars outside. I’m telling yall low IQ people work at this location. Finally someone with sense comes to see why I’m standing inside and not in the drivethru and the employee hands me my order. Seems like they don’t care who’s waiting at a fast food restaurant for 30 mins for an order that should only take 10 mins max to make. I’m not the type to make a fuss about waiting for food bc I know s* happens sometimes, but the fact that it looked like they just had no care in the world is what made me annoyed. Definitely do not recommend it, maybe I just came at a bad time when the morning shift was coming in, not sure but definitely don’t care either. Yall should...
