McDonald's — Restaurant in New York

How did an order for 2 boxes of 20 piece nuggets with sauces and 4 apple pies take over 40 minutes to get? Well, for one: only one of the contact-free kiosks worked, then we had to wait for substitute for one of the pies considering they were running low and didn't think to have an alternative ready despite it only being about 8pm on a Saturday night. The staff was moving at leisurely paces despite the number of people waiting for their respective pick-ups and it appears they were short-staffed considering SECURITY was behind the counter helping to prep the orders. But what really stood out was one McDonald's employee was behind the counter and on her phone while things were looking busy. Then when she finally decided to help prep food, she was also moving at her own discretion and even began dancing to the music and having conversation despite the growing number of irate customers. With all the time it took for orders to be sent out, plenty of time was allowed for observations to be made. Out of the seven staff members only 3 wore gloves when dealing with food and only 3 had on head gear to prevent contamination. This woman with her phone went back there with her ponytailed wig uncovered. I was so disgusted I asked the security guard, Chris, if that same woman was a manager considering her polo shirt was a different shade from the rest. To which he said he didn't know. I HATE going to the Fordham road McDonald's! Even before the renovation, it was just ghetto and unprofessional! Let this had been a Manhattan establishment--not even fast food-- everyone would've been written up if not...

I went to this location a little after 10pm and order two strawberry & cream pies via the kiosk.

I received my order in about 3mins or so, but upon checking the bags contents, there were two apple pie boxes. I then notified manager, and showed my receipt.

The manager tells me the boxes indeed contained strawberry pie, but were placed in apple pie boxes because they were out of strawberry pie boxes.

I took her word and almost walked away, but decided to check the contents of the boxes, which turned out to be apple. I again informed the manager of the error.

Manager takes back the order, and I had to wait over 20mins for new pies to be baked, even though the kiosk listed items in stock.

After the wait, manager handed me the items I paid for in the same used and crumpled bag of the original order. Miraculously they now had the correct boxes for the pie.

Manager didn’t once say, sorry for the inconvenience. I will make it my business to share my experience on all social media platforms, and NEVER! visit this location again due to the poor customer service.

It’s such a shame how the level of customer service from McDonald’s in n.y.c varies by location. Customer service in the Times Square location compared to the bronx is like night and day.

After standing in McDonald’s at the restorer for literally 15 minutes I then took out my phone to record myself standing there while everyone frustrated use their cards to order from the machine cos no one was taking orders at the register , all employees walked by took a look at me and said nothing , none asked if I needed help let alone gave that free smile you love to advertise in every commercial !!! I work in actual restaurant so I know things get busy but the reason I left and I said nothing was people usually tend to do thingd without care after you call them out , places like this give the Bronx a bad name and New Yorkers as well not only did I not eat but as I walked out I turned looked back manger looked in my eyes and turned round and started messing with.
