I am updating my review from 4 months ago from five stars to 2 stars.
I do love Bella Pizza for their excellent job with dine in service but their delivery has been very hit and miss lately - with deliveries of the exact same order varying greatly. They do make a solid pie, if not a touch over priced, only when the order/toppings are correct.
A recent order of mine, which I placed through the slice app, was incorrect. I always order chicken bacon ranch, at least twice a month, but for some reason I noticed that this time there were a lot of tomatoes and more ranch than there usually is. Then, after we started eating it, we realized there was no bacon on the pie.. I reached out to customer support to confirm that I had the right one delivered and they simply said there was no possible way that the bacon was missed, as it is part of a "topping mix". This makes absolutely no sense, and is frankly a Bs response. I asked if the order amount could be adjusted to reflect the missing topping, they simply said no because they are so confident in their premixed topping. Honestly, just knowing this about how they prepare pizza makes me want to stray stray from this joint, you think you'd want the toppings placed on the pizza individually, a la minute - not mixed together possibly hours before.
Also a note about how they deliver salads inside the hot pizza bags - who would put salad with hot food, it will just get wilty and gross? Advice - If you order a salad, be ready to toss it in the fridge for a bit as it will probably be nice and warm..
Had Bella's still been open, I would have walked it back to show them that there was NO BACON on what is now just an overpriced pie. Sad to say bye to delivery from my favorite neighborhood pizza place. I will now only resort to this one when I am able to carry out so I can verify the accuracy of my order.
Also, I feel it is worth mentioning that I am a food service professional and have worked in restaurants, pizzerias included, for over 20 years. ( I think I can tell when you don't put bacon on my...
Read moreEdited 9/4/22: What happened to the cozy atmosphere that made Bella Pizza stand out rather than looking like every other Kennedy Fried Chicken on Fordham Rd? Why does it look like it's downsizing and doing the bare minimum just to get by? I had ordered two pies for delivery with a text saying it would be ready 30 minutes to an hour. Before the 30 minutes were up, I got a text message notifying that my order would be delayed. Then later on a message and email expressing there wasn't a staff member available to make the delivery and it would be canceled with proof of cancelation showing in my statement within two business days. The text also offered placing an order for pick-up if I was still interested. I responded with the order number only to get a response indicating that their tablet was malfunctioning so there was no record of the order. Upon going to Bella's --the first time in a while-- I was taken aback by the changes: reduced counter, generic LED menu instead of the handwritten chalk board, an extra large fridge beside the familiar Snapple fridge and less pleasant customer service from the staff. They weren't rude, but they didn't compare to the warm welcome patrons received from Hollywood back in the day. It makes me wonder what happened to him? I used to look forward to coming to Bella's Pizza, now not so much. It's gone from 5 stars to 3 at best.
2019: (5 stars) I had a rough week and today, while watching a television show I kept seeing pizza commercials. Funny thing is the show had two characters entering a pizzeria in one scene and that sold me. I haven't had pizza in so long and despite having the restaurant's menu at home, I never ordered until tonight. I HAVE NO REGETS! The food was ready in swift time, Hollywood's customer service was welcoming and refreshing (given the poor service I've had from other places of business this week). And the chicken parmesan pizza was OUTSTANDING! My family loved it! I'll...
Read moreSo I'll start off by saying yesterday I went in and aside from them looking like Kentucky fried chicken or any other generic pizza place, the food is the downfall. I had there Alfredo with breaded chicken. As for presentation it was generic so I won't complain. There sauce is horrible I read from other reviews how bad it was but I tried it for myself. The chef needs to be fired or learn new things. Bland is an understatement!!!! It tasted like the sauce u get out the bottle that is in supermarkets. No seasoning I had to put garlic salt and pepper and that still didn't help much. There garlic knot they give you isn't good also. They should give garlic bread the traditional way like they used to but I guess they had to cut corners with money. What makes me wonder is how they changed the back but the front if the place looks terrible with rotting wood and uncomfortable chairs. Idk what There going to do when they read this but to bella pizza pay attention to your reviews all the complaints on your pasta from a month ago going back almost a year and you didn't change anything it's sad customers give you money how about you take the advice for real. ( just as a side note I'm a chef and your food embarrassed me because I...
