What started as a curious craving one day for enchiladas, became years of frequent visits and calls to try their quesadillas, tuna wraps, their salads and fruit smoothies and juices, the crispy chicken wraps, the chicken fajita plate, the blueberry muffins, the tiramisu, their mojitos and a variety of other culinary delights. For a long time Fordham Rd didn't have a place where you can order a salad or just healthy options with robust flavor. Everything was burgers and fried chicken. Granted, there have been some Latin restaurants in this area as well, but Family's Cafe is that small whole in the wall that surprises you with a variety of great food and courteous service. On top of that, the store does not pick up the phone to confirm orders out for delivery in case you're wondering if your order is just late. I called various times and they deliberately picked up the and ignored my calls. They are close at around 9 but I ordered my food at 7. They received my order at 7:03 and then told me it would be delivered from 8 to 8:10. I called till 9 pm when I noticed it was 8:30 and my order had not been delivered, trying to speak to someone but no one answered and my food was never delivered. My order was sent to me totally wrong and when I called the guy seemed to be in a rush and gave me no information, so I called grubhub and they gave me my money (Grubhub Policy: they give you a refund and you stay with the item).
They guy from the restaurant decided to send me the item without any notice and also to blame me for eating the item, saying I stole it and it was not mine, accusing me of his lack of communication and operational mistakes, I'm sorry if this is the manager they really need to retrain him in customer service and hospitality because he is the reason they just lost $20 to $60 of DAILY revenue.
