Mini Melanie — Restaurant in New York

This review is long overdue and comments partly on the excellent customer service as well as the quality product. I'm writing from Canada and ordered a delicious mini cake 4-pack for my sister-in-law's birthday two months ago. Long story, short.. Third party arrangements I made for pick up and delivery fell through. No one picked up my order on the Friday afternoon before closing. 😭 I am grateful for this business being SO accommodating. They reached out to let me know no one had picked up AND ended up making the effort to arrange the delivery even though my sister-in-law lived outside their delivery zone. They basically saved her birthday gift from me! She very much enjoyed the cakes. They weren't too sweet and she said they were the perfect size. She's really into the business (which she says is a great find). You have both a loyal local and remote customer! DO NOT BUY A CAKE HERE. I bought a cake for to be delivered as a surprise for my mom's 71st birthday and the whole experience from ordering it to the taste of the cake itself was a nightmare. While they were always quick to respond, answers to my questions were unclear and when I had an issue (there were multiple) the responses I got were totally insincere. My biggest issue though (and the reason I am leaving this review) is because the cake was dry and stale, as was the icing. According to my family, it tasted as if it had been sitting in a freezer or fridge for days. This is totally unacceptable for an $80 cake that cost $45 to deliver. This is a review of their cake truffles and customer service! I ordered multiple gifts recently for a few friends and a box for myself since I’ve always wanted to try them. I was not disappointed and neither was anyone who received them!! The cake truffles were absolutely beautiful and even more delicious than they looked! They brought everyone so much joy! I also was incredibly impressed with their customer service. They responded right away, were extremely prompt and professional and notified me when each gift was shipped.
