My family and I stayed for 10 days. I wasn't expecting much; we were looking for a decent hotel at a good price, and it turned out to be much better than we expected. The service was wonderful. Right from the start, I had a problem with the payment (the problem was on my end because I hadn't checked my limits beforehand and couldn't log into my banking app to change them) . The gentleman at the front desk was very kind, helpful, and patient, and we finally managed to pay for our stay with several different cards. The room was basic - an iron, a small ironing board, a TV, and clothes hangers. Exactly as in the pictures. There was no refrigerator, but upon request, the room service guy brought us one literally 10 minutes later. (It was working poorly, but we didn't want to bother him with another one.) The room was very clean, cleaned daily, and the beds were very comfortable for two people. The bathroom was also clean, and there was body wash and shampoo. Towels were always fresh. Downstairs, there was a room with tables, microwaves, a water dispenser, a refrigerator, an ice maker, plastic cutlery, and common cups. I was a little worried about the location, but it turned out I shouldn't have been. We've stayed in New York several times, in various locations (Manhattan, Bay Ridge, Queens Plaza, Jefferson Ave), and I think the BKLYN hotel's location is excellent, right outside Manhattan. There's a lot going on in the area, great breakfast spots, and a very quick commute to Manhattan, with a subway station literally 3-4 minutes from the hotel. Although the J line only goes to lower Manhattan, you can transfer to other lines at Canal Street for free. The typical all-inclusive leisure traveler might not like the area; in the evenings, a homeless person sleeps near Burlington. But that's America. The hotel doesn't charge any additional fees, except for a $100 security deposit, which was refunded to our account the day after checkout. If we're ever in New York again, we'll stay at this...

The deposit system here is a SCAM. There is zero mention of a deposit on any booking site.
They don't take cash, and any international money card will not work. They make you buy a gift card, which is so dodgy, but unfortunately I had two choices, do it, or sleep on the streets for a week.
I then paid another $100 deposit after getting paid from my job. I used my English debit card after being assured I would get the deposit back
I then got the $100 "refunded" onto the gift card. I use the word refunded, even though it showed they had tried to take the money again, they argued and argued that it had been refunded.
I have not received a cent or dime of my room deposit back. I have emailed and have had no response, so unfortunately I have been scammed out of $200.
The hotel actually is fantastic apart from the robbing reception staff. The room was spacious, the air con was amazing, much needed in a heat wave.
The location is excellent, a 2 minute walk to the subway station. I never once felt unsafe in the neighborhood.
I would actually stay here again as the hotel itself was nice. But I would factor in the added room deposit tax/ scam. What ever you want to call it.
If I get my money back (no chance I know). Then I'll amend my review to a five star one, as apart from the crooks on reception the cleaners were lovely and everything else was great.

I enjoyed absolutely nothing about this hotel. I strongly discourage anyone from staying here.
We booked it for one night, the day we arrived from Europe. After a 15-hour flight, we arrived around 10 PM, only to discover that the shower wasn’t working. We reported the issue to a staff member (possibly the manager?), who checked it and confirmed the problem. He informed us there were no other available rooms and offered two options: have the shower fixed in the morning or be moved to a different hotel. Since it was late and we were exhausted, we agreed to wait for the repair.
I simply said, “I hope someone will come tomorrow,” to which she confidently replied, “There’s no need to hope—someone IS COMING at 8 AM to fix it.” (xD)
As you can probably guess… no one came.
When we followed up with the morning receptionist, he had no knowledge of the issue. At checkout, we brought it up again. He apologized and assured us that we would receive a full refund within 25 days. Unsurprisingly, no one ever got back to us. We tried contacting the hotel afterward, but received no response. Unfortunately, Booking.com hasn’t been helpful either.
My advice: don’t risk staying at this hotel or being treated with such disrespect. For the next four nights, we stayed at another hotel in Brooklyn—on the same street—cheaper, better, and with far superior service.
No one deserves to be treated the...
