Genuinely in need of reevaluation of their service & food. I view myself as an extremely fair reviewer and have generally an understanding view of local restaurants. Nonetheless my recent experience at this place really gave me a quite an irk to leave this review. I'm hoping that this brings a certain enlightenment to the business.
I went with my friends to grab a quick brunch on Sunday morning around noon and there weren't many people. We understood this was normally a fun bar for brunch happy hours but did not order drinks and just wanted to enjoy the food. While asking for a recommendation for a menu for my vegetarian friend, the waitress cuts off my friend's question mid-sentence and tells her to just get the first thing she mentioned. Our group should've noticed something was off then.
When our food came out, we were not even served with water nor utensils yet which we had to hail across the room many times to get other waiters' attentions. One of my friends ordered chicken and waffle and did not realize that it didn't come with maple syrup. When she asked the waitress if she could have a maple syrup, the waitress said "I will check with the kitchen" and did not come back until we were all done with the meals. She passed by our table many times after but only came to circle back when we were almost done with the meal. It would have been totally acceptable to let us know that they did not carry maple syrup but the dragging feet really did not serve us any comfort in enjoying our meals. The food was really subpar, cold, salty and we all felt incredibly underwhelmed with the overall quality of food, service, and dining experience. In the mean time, at least three of the servers came by and asked if they could remove our plates as we are very apparently still working on our foods.
Needless to say that our Sunday morning mood was incredibly disturbed. The worst part was probably when we realized that our bill already included the service tip of 20%, and when we pulled our cards out, the waitress was so quick to grab our cards and ran them. I only noticed later on the bottom of the bill that said we could ask the waiter to change the tip percentage before running the cards. I will not be describing the particular waitresses and waiters of this place because this seems to be an overall lack of guidance and training from the business.
I live nearby and I was excited to check out Miti Miti. I have heard good things about the place and have always seen good crowds. However, I definitely noticed the decrease in popularity recently and i should have been guided with more recent reviews of this place. Unless you are going to black out in your brunch and is going to be ok with blindingly passing over your card to rude waiters, avoid this place. I will not be returning to this location as well as other sister restaurants as I have been kindly informed by my recent experience that this is truly a disappointing run of...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would. My server was super nice and did the best that she could but the owners of the establishment are trash. I came to celebrate my birthday with a party of 7 and everyone’s food came out cold. Not exaggerating refrigerator cold. We order respasdo patron they sent out blanco. We informed them that it was blanco not respasdo. They took it back and sent back the same shots out. If you know tequila then you know blanco does not taste nor smell like respasdo. We order 3 Tamarindo margaritas with a swap out of mezcal for respasdo. Instead of charging us the extra 2 dollars for the tequila difference they charged us 3 shots of patron respasdo 3 dollar for a margarita and 1 dollar for Tamarindo. When a Tamarind margarita was $14 instead our drinks were $18 each and we were not informed. Not only that we ordered extra guac on our tacos and never received it but was charged for it. I informed the owner of my complaints and he said he would only charge me for shots instead of drinks and remove the extra guacamole. Instead he charged me for 3 specialty margaritas for $54 (the same amount that we were charged initially just looked different on the bill) instead of honoring his word and removing the extra money off our bill. There was no comp for refrigerator food also. It was a terrible birthday experience. I do not recommend this place. There are better and cheaper options in Brooklyn that treat you better and honor your word. Do...
Read moreMy party of 3 was seated kinda quickly--the hostess was having difficulty with the concept of pushing 2 2-seaters together in the outdoor enclosure because we did not want to sit at the 2 pushed together 2-seaters on the sidewalk. 🧐
The patron margaritas & great service (Sebastián) were the saving grace. Our pitcher of lychee margarita tasted terrible. For $75 we intended to drink every drop so we sent it back for a classic patron margarita instead. It was stroooong. 🙃 We got 7-8 pours from the pitcher.👌🏾
Lobster tostada appetizer has 2 miles of guac piled on that weighs down the tortilla, but the lobster chunks are fresh & plenty. I was expecting the dish to taste spectacular... it was meh. 😮💨 No flavor whatsoever. I added a lil lime, which helped a bit, but still not the experience I anticipated.
The coconut shrimp tacos are REALLY good!!
Pork belly taco was ok..... just ok. Crispy brussel sprouts are kinda bland but tender with just the right crunch. We all wanted the cripsy fish taco, but it's tilapia--so no thanks. Calamari was perfectly fried, light & golden. It was also bland & the salsa verde it's plated with does NOTHING to add to the flavor profile. I asked for picante at some point. It didn't save any of the dishes.
Ordered crispy chicken tacos to-go. The teenager said they were "ok". He seemed underwhelmed 🤷🏾♀️
$270 later.... I'd probably only go back for margaritas & coconut...
