I had a very odd, very off-putting experience here for my first visit. Been wanting to try this local spot for a while now. First sign of scamming came from noticing that the outside posted menu is cheaper than the menu they give you at the table. I then asked the waitress, because I was unsure myself, if the thigh or the breast was dark meat. She seemed like she never heard of such a question and then hesitated before answering. While I then asked what a certain sauce was on one of the kebabs and she went to check, I did myself a google search on the meat types and not to my surprise, she was completely wrong lol No problem, I ordered my skewers and then went on to order my dips.

I had asked which on the list of “Salad and Dips” were dips, it took me about 3 tries to ask this simple question that seemed to confuse her for her to finally inform me that only the first option is a dip, all else were salads. How come then is “Dips” plural in the title?! Finally, I asked how many pitas or chips that DIP came with, to which she said none, it’s only the dip and that pita was an extra $2. I’m sorry, WHAT?!! How is that possible or an option??! It’s literally not a “Dip” then if it doesn’t come with something to dip it into. Am I supposed to pay $5 for a “dip” to eat with a…spoon?! It’s like ordering guacamole appetizer but it doesn’t come with chips. This place is backwards and seems lazy and like scammers. I immediately walked out with this disappointing pit in my stomach, all appetite lost, never...

I have been waiting patiently to go to Miriam for quite some time now and today my wish list got a check mark. Let’s talk about this amazing mouth watering food first and then I’ll touch on safety precautions. We got our food at the very tail end of lunch time and I’m so glad because this was a filling portion and I’m told the chicken is double for dinner. This schnitzel was so juicy and expertly prepared, not too greasy from the frying but so delightfully crispy. It was just right! The mashed potato was creamy and magically kept the chicken warm with every bite. This traditional Israeli salad transported me right back to Tel Aviv. The salad brightened the dish with flavor and of course vibrant color. I saved talking about that aioli for last because Shanah Tovah to me! The horseradish compliments the schnitzel magically and is such a lovely homage the culture and history. I would recommend this dish to anyone who is ready for a hearty lunch.

Service was amazing, by the way! I’m sure some days are harder than others but folks who leave reviews here need to remember that our servers are quite literally putting their lives on the line right now. That being said, our service today was excellent. There are plenty of tables out front with plexiglass to protect folks, and each table has hand sanitizer. There is also a restroom inside available to customers. Never did I think we’d come to a time that a restroom was a very...

Quite disappointed

Recommended by a family member and looked really good on Google and once we arrived. Brunch on New Years Eve, not extremely busy and we sat at the bar. Ordered cappuccino which was pretty good. No complaints. Ordered breakfast, eventually. Green shakshuka and Israeli breakfast, with a side of burekas. Food took very long to come out which did make me a little worried, but I did get a baked dish, so no problem. Dishes finally arrived, pita and labne are great, but here the problems start. The green shakshuka was burnt to a crisp. It was black on top, the egg whites like a frittata, and the yolks unrecognizable deep below. Most of the sauce had evaporated leaving a weird green pepper salsa. I was hoping for a unique smokey spicy flavor but it was mostly inedible. Israeli breakfast was better, but then again it's hard to mess up eggs. Potatoes were burnt to a black crisp on one side. The side of burekas was perhaps the most disappointing, when I bit into it I wondered for so long what they're filled with. They fold them so tightly as to almost fool the guest into thinking there's a filling. We couldn't even finish one. Moreover, during our entire meal, no one came to check on us, even though it seemed like there was a manager walking the dining room. Such a shame, very disappointed after being recommend and seeing all the spectacular reviews.

Brunch entrees are $18 Burekas a la carte $8 Total...

Fantastic experience - one of the best meals I've ever eaten. My brother-in-law said this is his favorite restaurant in all of New York. We could not stop raving about how good everything was as we were eating and as we walked home. Everything tasted extremely fresh and well prepared. Our party of 5 got there for the end of happy hour and everyone got drinks. The best was the Lil' Cuke - cucumber and mint puree with lillit apertif - we kept passing that around. The dipping plate had some amazing tzaziki with complex and refreshing flavors, babaganouj, tahini, and a mashed squash dish. We cleaned everything out with the zaatar bread and with other dishes throughout the meal. The falafel plate was also ridiculously fresh and delicious. My other favorites were the branzino and chicken shawarma. Others really liked the lamb shawarma and brussel sprouts. Not one thing we ordered was less than great. Presentation was on point. Price was unbeatable - ~$40 per person including drinks. We will definitely return next time we're in New York!
