Don't spend correction WASTE your money here ! At first glance the place has cute decor ( this used to be Exhale) As I walked in there was a young women whom I would later find out was the hostess turning away a party of 4.
I only notice this interaction as I was walking in to meet my brother for his birthday dinner because of her appearance and tone in which she turned them away (the encounter struck me as odd for a hostess speak in that tone that i didn't think she was the hostess), moving on.
I asked for the my brothers table the gentleman whom appeared to be the Manager, had some trouble looking for his name and a staff member quickly pointed us to the right direction.
I would like to note the reservation was set for a party of 10 at 6:45 and 7 guests had arrived, and the same the hostess had told my brother she would cancel the table if ALL his guest hadn't arrived at while at the same time she increased the minimum to a party of 12, again Odd (the rest of his party ( 3) arrived at 7:05)....
After that the waitress we had quickly took drink orders and came back with appetizers 4 plates of empanada 2 on each plate etc etc. The same waitress at this point must have started a timer because she came back to the table on 4 seaprate occasions urging us to put our main dishes in because another party had arrived.
It was the strangest encounter I have ever experienced; she went from explaining how our food wouldn't arrive on time to another party was on arrival at 10 pm.
We were all getting turned off as we were still working our apps and trying to celebrate my brother's birthday.... In between the urgency to put main dishes in the waitress kept picking up plates and asking if we were done as people were clearly still eating.
Then we had another waitress along with our waitress basically stare the whole table down because we took up a little too much space.
This was the final straw as my brother was now embarrassed with his guests and the family was also feeling uncomfortable. We collectively decided to cancel the party pay and go home.
One of our guests did not like this place from passed experience and warned us of the hidden surcharges and lack of customer service. He was absolutely đŻ correct.
We had a $600 bill for less than hour, 2 cocktail drinks for 1/2 the party and a couple of underwhelming empanada and Mediocre ceviche. The margaritas were decent pues Claroooo, if they were selling the reposado in the drink and charged $4 for flavor it had to be decent ....
We have over 20+ years collectively in the hospitality and F&B industry and we were appalled by the hostess, wait staff and quite frankly the operation as whole.
My brother because he is a gentleman still tipped the staff. The Manager Jimmy did try something towards the end in recovery with an apology and $100.00 gift card to go back..... peroooo why ???? What for ??? the hostess as we were leaving rolled her eyes and did a two step shuffle and left the scene as he was left dealing with us, which clearly means she's something to the owner because really đ€đœ.... It is safe to say no one in this group that knows anything about quality of service and hospitality will be returning to this place.
The reservation was at 6:45 pm and by 7:20 pm we had left deeply offended and...
Read moreHey all! I came to this restaurant a few months ago on a Saturday night. Drafted a review while I was still sitting at the table, and finally sat down to submit. Here goes! My husband, daughters, and I arrived to Mojo and were told the wait would be 90 mins. It was more like 45, so that was a good start. We were texted when a table was ready and seated a few minutes later at a table just across from the hostess. The first thing I noticed was that the table was dirty. There was still food and black beans on the table and glass wall from the previous group. When I notified a staff member, she brought us napkins so we can clean it up ourselves. We had to get her attention after to come collect the garbage, and she was confused when we asked her to dispose of it. She complied of course. NO apology for the inconvenience. BTW, COVID? You should be cleaning the tables between guests. Waiter came shortly after seating to get our drink order. The drinks came fast and were good. Next were the appetizers. We ordered calamari and Guac and chips. Also came extremely fast! Batter on the calamari tasted burned, or like old oil? The calamari was perfectly cooked so I assumed the latter... until I got to the 2nd piece. Overcooked! The Guac was super fresh and the chips tasted homemade. I really enjoyed that. Or at least I wish I could have enjoyed it a bit longer, because we were not even halfway done when the waiter returned for the entrée order. This order, again, came out extremely quickly. (Notice a theme?) I got the chicken fried rice, My husband the Jumping Lomo, and our girls the Mojo chicken. The fried rice was missing something. Seasoning? It was missing a burst of flavor that I was expecting in such a loaded fried rice. And what it lacked there, the cook sure tried to make up for it with oil. Good Lord! If you tipped it on its side, it pooled at the bottom! Unfortunately this dish fell short. The Lomo was better. For a man plate though, I would not recommend it as it did not have very much meat. Plenty of potatoes to go with that white ri... OOh here is the waiter again! Yes everything is fine, the whole 2 bites I just had. Nope, don't need anything except time to consume my meal! Mojo chicken. This was really a chicken breast in an alfredo like sauce with white rice. Imagine that. It came with Black beans that were very bland. The chicken breast was, however, PERFECTLY cooked! It was tender, moist, and well seasoned. Delicious! They just need to reboot that sauce. Or scratch it all together! The atmosphere is nice. The music could be a tad lower so you can actually hear the people you are conversing with. Also, the DJ could play some more Latin music in a Latin restaurant. I will give the benefit of the doubt that its was a Club night. I would try it again, but the price and quality of the meal just don't match. For delicious Hispanic cheap eats on a Saturday night, I think I'll stick to...
Read moreCame here on a Saturday for a ladies brunch to celebrate my sisters birthday. I had made reservations with one of the managers named Lucy during the week. Lucy was very pleasant and helpful with informing me with menu options and any special request we might have had. I chose a pre-fix menu since there were eight of us. It is a two course family style meal. You are able to choose three appetizers and three main main courses. I would have liked to see a dessert option included in the menu. However, the birthday person does get a complimentary cake with a candle. We added the unlimited bottomless drinks option for $20.00 per person for 1.5 hours.
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess. The ambiance of this place is beautiful. It is well decorated. Great for photos. We were seated upstairs by the stairs facing down the bar and dj. Dj was playing a mix of music. Music sound is perfect it is not too loud. As soon as our whole party arrived we were served immediately. We had sangria and mimosa. The sangria was delicious and the mimosa was really good. We were served in pitchers. Appetizers came out immediately. For starters, we had fried calamari, guacamole and chips and chicken, and vegan chorizo empanadas. The calamari was absolutely delicious. It was nice and crispy on the outside, and the tartar sauce and pickled onions were really good. Calamari was served with pieces of yuca fries. The empanadas were good, and the guacamole was tasty.
For our main entrees, we chose the tres golpes, steak with eggs and chicken, and waffle. The Tres Golpes is Mashed Green Plantains, Pickled onions, Fried Cheese, Fried Salami, Eggs. This was so delicious, the mango was cooked perfectly. The salami tasted delicious. Steak and eggs were really good. Steak is served with chimichurri sauce on top. Steak was tender and very flavorful. Now, onto the chicken and waffles. These waffles are made of sweet plantains. Waffles are served with Butter Milk Fried Chicken Breast and a Sweet Smoked Turkey Gravy. The waffle was delicious on its own. For my sisters complimentary cake, they brought out cuatro leche cake. The cake was moist and delicious.
Our overall experience was great. Nice vibes and friendly staff. The food, drinks, and music were on point. This is defiently a nice spot for brunch and dinner. A huge thank you to Lucy. You are a doll. Thank you for checking in on us and for your amazing...
