Sidewalk width clearance less than mandatory 8ft and height of outdoor umbrellas way too low whenever it’s sunny. Totally unacceptable. I almost got my eyes poked out few times trying to walk through. Mentioned this to staff several times and STILL the same sidewalk violations occur. Business owners shows lack of care to local residents and rather endanger their health to the benefit of his money making business. Shameful irresponsible illegal unethical business practice! I don’t care how good the food tastes if the owner shows such lack of regard for public safety and city regulation, boycott this establishment if youre local and care about community civicness. Support public safety/health and rule of law. Please Boycott until this establishment abides by local municipal laws and regulations in place for benefit of the public!!! The public has a right to walk safely through public sidewalks without hazardous obstacles!! Will be making complaints to DOT and city councilwoman of Forest Hills, and whichever other city state federal regulators with oversight jurisdiction over this establishment. The owner had adequate notice and could have easily fixed the issue but replacing umbrellas that have taller stems and or clearing adequate sidewalk space. The fact that such simple remedy was not employed proves gross lack of care and disregard for the law and safety of the public. See pic. Lack of adequate walk space on sidewalk and this lady was able to clear umbrella only bc she’s under 5’8 tall

I love this place in Forest Hills. They call it, “A little corner of France in Forest Hills.”They have the most delicious creamy hot chocolate, which is the main reason I come here. It is such a treat. It is behind the Catholic church I go to on Sundays. They have other beverages of course, and they do have breads, other pastries, and cake. A chef bakes these, and another chef prepares the soups, salads, sandwiches, and other food they serve. They just make small batches of their stuff, and mostly use organic ingredients, which explains the pricing. They arent on the cheaper side of the spectrum. This is a small place, with one medium-sized communal table and few small tables indoor, but in the warmer days, they do have several tables outdoors. It is situated on the quieter part of Austin St and behind a church, so one can enjoy the goodies this place offers without people frequently looking in on you while you eat or cars honking or passing by every so often. It is quite a find. Come by and enjoy some French over here. I highly recommend!

The blonde woman is always rude. She must be the owners daughter. She’s rude to the staff. Rude to the customers. She’s very unhappy to be there and brings down the entire experience. The place is packed and the customers are patient and pleasant about waiting - the crew should be. I’ve recommended this place for years but the service and experience have become rough. The bread is good but all the breads are similar in tastes. They rarely have croissants after 11am. In other words - you’re in NY - not the best bread or only bread in town. Also, they’re just not worth the attitude. To the blonde woman who is very unhappy - we all have jobs. If you don’t like yours please do something else. You’re rude to your coworkers and customers every week and getting worse. She takes forever doing everything and is bullying her way around the small service area. Customer feedback - it’s costs you nothing to be nice - except future business when you aren’t. I’ll be back, one more chance. Be nice. It’s not hard.

Absolutely ridiculous staff! I have ordered food online, in a minute they called me and informed that they ran out of this food and I choose refund option. They never refunded! More over i was waiting for a week, thinking sometimes they say it may take 5-7 day to appear back in my bank. NOTHING, i made order again, went there to pick up and to inquire of the refund status! Guess what I’ve been welcomed with ridiculous attitude! The guy with the ponytail, who they said is responsible for this type of situation he was ignoring me, he was so rude I can’t even describe. Lady Carmen took my phone and email, and advised that by the end of the day i will receive information! I have provided transaction details, the screenshot of their incoming call to me after i’ve placed an order. I suggest email as the best way of communicating, since i am extremely busy during the day. And today is one more week since i am waiting for any information! More over I checked the previous transaction they had to refund me from before and they never did! Such a nasty experience! Guys, if you don’t how to deal with issues- don’t do business! Whoever is the owner of this place hope will read it and EDUCATE TRAIN their staff! Stop putting on customer service positions god knows who! This is NOT the simplest thing in retail, this is the MOST important complicated to deal with people AND to deal with YOURSELF before you start dealing with people. Your staff is talented to make people feel bad, ruin their day and put them more down. This is ridiculous! And I didn’t do anything? I JUST ASKED on the status of refund that has been created because of issue on YOUR END ( you had no food ) AND i was considering to wait a week AND i was asking politely with an option for you to fix it. And I received the mud in my face. Really? Will NEVER GO BACK! The place is good when you feel there good, if you don’t care to create nice environment- CLOSE THE BUSINESS! Have a little...

I placed an order online for a 10 inch chocolate mousse-passion fruit cake for my mothers 60th birthday celebration last October 2022. It is her favorite cake. The order was placed three days in advance (Thursday afternoon) for pickup Sunday. I called the bakery every day since I was unable to go there in person. The phone either rings nonstop, and gives unavailable number message afterwards or the busy signal. I was never able to get through, and found it strange that no one followed up with me as they had done in past when I’ve ordered a cake.

Finally Sunday after dialing 7 times I finally got through, while on my way to the bakery. They apparently didn’t have the order number, then they found the order number. By this time I had arrived. When I got there and showed them my order number they informed me that they were very busy and missed the order. They then told me if I really wanted a cake to go to Martha’s bakery. Really? In the end I ended up taking and paying full price for a pear tart that they had lying around, since I had to bring something to my mothers 60th birthday. It was not what I wanted but I have to say the tart was absolutely delicious which made me forget about the oversight. After all, everyone is entitled to make a mistake, we are not perfect. This week I decided to order again a cake and this time for my grandfather’s 85th birthday hoping we will have a beautiful cake as we once did. I paid for it online on Tuesday and on Thursday I was told that they don’t have all the ingredients and that they will not make the cake and that unfortunately, their website doesn’t get updated. A complete disappointment once again and as much as I like this place for croissants and coffee it needs better management, have a dedicated person that reviews orders placed online and ensure the website gets updated and if there’s no ingredients to make a cake, the cake should be removed from the website. I hope this...

So very disappointing on tonight's experience at this place (7/9/18.) I've been coming here for the past few years and have always raved to my family and friends about the food and experience here.

Tonight, was the first time I continuously felt underappreciated as a customer.

With twenty-two minutes left to closing and an existing customer already awaiting his nicely served crepe on a plate with silverware, there was plenty of time to order, sit, be served and enjoy a dessert with hot drinks of our own.

Unfortunately, without being asked, we were served everything in to go boxes and cups, all placed in a single bag. Even after we sat down, asked for a fork and awaited our drinks, there was no remedy to try to make us feel any more appreciated as I was given a plastic fork.

It's customary, a server bring out your order on a ceramic plateware and silverware then when you're drink order is ready it is served in a ceramic cup. I explained this to my husband who accompanied me tonight since, I always rave about this place to him. Shortly after the same person who brought me over the plastic fork, came over with a ceramic plate....

When the cake was too hard for me to cut with the plastic fork, I got up to ask for a knife and it was an older lady who gave me silverware (knife and fork,) I was very happy because she made me feel welcomed. Strangely, I had to heat my "hot" chai tea latte at home because it was luke warm instead.

As, I put the un-used paper bag on the coffee counter, I can hear the barista/server (same person) snicker and say something to her colleague as she made no qualms of being discreet.

As we left a couple of minutes before closing in between more customers entering, my husband says, "l will never, EVER come to this place again." I felt bad my husband did not enjoy the same experience I normally do especially, even after...
