Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. I couldn't believe it was so crowded on a normal weekday night. Staff were friendly and seated us right away near the back. Our server was extremely attentive and were receptive of our questions and requests.
There were so many many many drinks, so I can see myself coming back to taste all their options. My friend didn't want any alcohol and ordered a mocktail that they "made up" especially for her haha. It was a pretty fruity girly drink.. that was $8. I told my friend that she probably saved them the money by not wanting the liquor hah. Regardless, she said it was a tasty drink. Thanks for the server to take up the request.
We ordered the kimchi steak empanadas for appetizer which were delicious!! The sauce was amazing and everything went well. The texture of the empanada was not as flaky as the authentic ones, a bit thicker than usual, but I forgive them because it's a nice combo of flavors.
I wish I had ordered the burger instead of the pork belly cuban sandwich with chicken. It was tasty, but it wasn't that satisfying with the truffle fries. I had to dip it in some hot sauce to make it more exciting. The truffle fries -- I have had better but they were still decent.
I tried the wings too. They were really good, huge wings that were crispy and super filling. They messed up and cooked it with the station house BBQ sauce, but were kind enough to ask us if we wanted it re-cooked. We said no, but they still gave us the station hot sauce on the side. I liked the sauce, but it was a bit too sour.
I will come back to try the burger.. probably a better pairing than the cuban sandwich to the truffle fries...along with a...
Read moreWent here with a friend after seeing a show in Forest Park. This is a tough one to review. The food was excellent. I got a Salmon sandwich, my friend got a Turkey BLT, and we split Cajun seasoned fries. I’m usually not a huge fan of like elevated bar food but it was all really great—the only thing keeping it from a 5/5 was that the bacon on the salmon sandwich was a bit overkill.
The service, however, was a nightmare. There were a bunch of servers standing at the entrance to the bar. We were seated outside by one of them (a guy) who took our order along with the table beside us —they got nachos. Then someone else (a woman) came out to take our order again—we told her we had already ordered. Then the people beside us got their nachos—after about five minutes. It took 20 more minutes or so for our food to come and in the meantime no communication from the waitress. She did not come outside a single time. Our food came, carried by a third person (maybe expediter). Still never saw the waitress for water refills or anything. I finally had to go inside and find her so we could get the check. As we were getting ready to leave, I went to use the bathroom and a fourth person (another server?) was blocking the main entrance and asked me what I was doing. I told him I was using the bathroom. I should add that though it was Saturday at 7pm the bar was NOT crowded. Maybe three tables outside and one or two inside were occupied (it was maybe 1/3 full).
Since I have walked by this place in the past on concert nights and seen it bumping, my guess is that the staff doesn’t know what to do in terms of roles and workflow when it isn’t...
Read moreI was standing on the public sidewalk across from this place—about 10 feet away from their outdoor seating barriers waiting for my son to come out of the McDonald’s next door. Within a minute, a bouncer stormed up to me and barked, not asked, but barked: “YOU CAN’T STAND HERE”‼️
I calmly explained that I was on public property, not blocking anyone, and simply waiting for my son. Instead of backing off, he doubled down, summoning a bigger bouncer to come stand beside him like some kind of intimidation tactic. Both of them loomed over me, repeatedly ordering me to move along as if they owned the street.
Let me be clear: they don’t. This was harassment, plain and simple. These bouncers were acting like bullies, abusing their position and trying to claim authority over a public sidewalk they have no legal right to control. After a few minutes of posturing and attempts to scare me off, they finally retreated inside.
The whole thing was disgraceful—territorial, law-breaking behavior from people who mistake intimidation for authority. If you don’t feel like being hassled by self-appointed sidewalk police who think they run the block, take note: at this bar, the sidewalk belongs to them, not the city.
To clarify, this incident occurred on Friday, August 15th. There were no concerts that day. I don’t smoke. I didn’t have my phone with me and was standing on the edge of the sidewalk. And The place was maybe 20% full
I used to be a frequent costumer They lost me and...
