Biggest organic selection in the area. Prices tend to be higher, though.
EDIT: I've lowered my rating because of a negative experience recently. I ordered delivery, which I never do and aside from taking much longer than expected (I was told at least 2 hours and it turned out to be 8), I got moldy produce and not all of the things I ordered. I specifically ordered from Natural because they are the only source of organic dried beans in the neighborhood and I was going to make chili. Of course the one thing they didn't have was the beans. This wouldn't have been a big deal had I received a phone call to let me know. I'd have just asked for a different type of bean. Instead, when I called to complain, I was told that they tried to call my number but got a busy signal, which is interesting, since it's a cell phone. I asked why he didn't try again and he said he just goes to the next customer - he won't even leave a voicemail if that's an option. The guy didn't even apologize or sound like he understands he has poor business practices. He just chalked it up to having a busy day. I really prefer to give my money to local businesses, but if I ever have to order groceries again, it'll have to be through a grocery delivery service like Fresh Direct. I already limit what I buy at Natural because of prices, this will only make me less inclined...
Read moreThe Cashiers here are cheaters. They intentionally charge you the organic prices rather than non organic prices for fruit. And their receipts make it practical impossible to review. because items purchased are only reflected as "grocery ".
All the negative reviews about staff treating customers with contempt and disrespect are true. I've been shopping here for several years only because they sell one item I can't find locally elsewhere. The people who stock the aisles push past you without saying excuse me and ignore you or pretend not to understand if you ask a question. Cashiers rarely acknowledge you and are constantly engaged in loud personal conversation with each other. Today I decided to bag my food myself since the cashier was wearing filthy gloves. She also tossed my change and receipt on the counter and gave me her back when I suggested she learn some manners.
Wow, just what I wanted ti say. They've been reported to DOF, for providing receipts not in accordance with NYS rules and regulations.
Cashiers are negatively aggressive and charge you for organic even though you've selected non-organic. And because the receipts only use the word "grocery" , once home it's nearly impossible to understand what exactly you...
Read moreProbably one of the worst grocery stores on the Austin Street strip. I went there one day and this lady and some other guy had been staring at me as I shopped for groceries in the store. I recall picking up a bag of bell peppers and there was a hole in the bag and the peppers fell out. The lady basically insulted me and acted like I was going to steal and ordered me to pick them up as if it was my fault their bag had a hole. I am not one to call out people for being racist but this store certainly is.
In addition, to this experience the few times I have gotten produce there it was moldy or expired each time. Not only is the owner and staff rude but they don’t seem to care about the people they serve. As someone that is a Forest Hills resident I never returned. I recommend the new organic store that opened two doors down. The produce has never been moldy also the staff are incredibly humble...
