Forest Hills Bagels — Restaurant in New York

Great place with excellent expedient service and deliciously fresh bagels and many other foods! They expanded their menu and extended their hours recently... now they have breakfast, lunch and dinner food and stay open until midnight!...Because the food is so good the place is usually crowded BUT they've devised such an efficient well organized food service operation that you're in out of the store in a matter of minutes!!! Regardless of how busy the staff ALWAYS provides friendly professional and prompt service!! If you want GREAT food and EXCELLENT EFFICIENT service then this is the place to find it!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

Updated review..I temporarily stopped patronizing FH Bagels for almost a month now!! I was thrilled when they expanded their menu and added a wider selection of green smoothie shakes and fresh juices/drinks..They also created a juice bar section displaying (¿sometimes not so fresh looking?) veggies and fruits to select to make the smoothies or fresh juice drinks👍🏽 However, the efficient speedy service you get when ordering bagels etc.. DOESN'T EXIST when ordering smoothies 🤔 You have to wait until they finish serving everyone else in the store before your catered to! They need to "man" that station so you don't have to stand there waiting for service for who knows how long!! 😩 A few instances the wait time was so ridiculous that after standing around for 10-15 min w/o placing any order I had to leave so I wouldn't be miss my appointment!! When I have gotten lucky enough to order a smoothie.. depending on who made it...would be too thick and unable to drink or too bitter and overpowering with pungent taste of the greens🥴 only 2 out of 6 times was it perfect!! I have been here several times before, because the food is good! Admittedly much less since The Bagel Spot on my corner opened. Today I was shocked when I walked in while an employee behind the register speaking was quite nastily to and arguing with an elderly woman waiting for her order, I found it offputting but didn't think too much of it. I then attempted to order an egg everything bagel, they were out. My next 2 choices of pumpernickel and egg were out as well. My 4th choice was available and I still later enjoyed my bagel. The line was even slower than usual. I still didn't mind too much . But when I got to the register and had my unfortunate turn with this employee I was disgusted by the poor customer service of this new muscle bound 40ish white male employee . If he wasn't the manager or owner his attitude presented as he was. He again was very rude to both myself and a different customer for being surprised at the new $10 minimum for credit cards. Firstly, it's 2024, almost everyone swipes now for purchases having a minimum isn't looked kindly upon. However, the man's cavalier and attitude and horrible order to read the new sign disgusted me. He was visibly and audibly annoyed when asked how long this has been in effect. He made me not want to return and I'm sure others have felt the same way. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT called about a mistake on my BEC i asked for SALT PEPPER MAYO AND KETCHUP got two dry sandwiches on top of the fact that i ordered a small and medium iced coffee and got 2 smalls so i called about the issue since i got them to go and i wasn’t home to fix them a guy answered the phone told me to come in the following morning that he would take care of what happened. After speaking with the manager covering in the morning he told me i was lying about what the guy said and didn’t want to remake my food and just gave me an ice coffee for the inconvenience. He was rude and it was a waste of time for the managers to not even communicate is horrible. I heard the managers conversation when he called him to ask about what he said and he was on the phone crying about how he had a line out the door when there was 5 people in the store and how he didn’t work in the morning apparently he comes in at 10am. When i called about the issue the guy told me to look for the white guy with glasses didn’t even want to give me a name how unprofessional!! I stopped coming here but decided to give it a shot BIG MISTAKE. NEVER AGAIN!
