It's hard to find reviews on jerk chicken pans online. I decided to help anyone who wants their jerk chicken craving satisfied in the East Ny area find this little gem. It is located at the Shepard Ave Station right off the C or A train.
I have tried three spots so far. One at Broadway Junction, Utica, and now here at Shepherd and this spot is miles ahead. I would call the other two spots burnt chicken instead of jerk chicken.
The man cooking here has been making authentic jerk chicken since 1982 with origins from Portland Jamaica. The marinade and the sauces are all a homemade blend.
Unlike restaurants who bake their jerk chicken, these babies are cooked on a charcoal grill to give that real smoky jerk chicken flavor that baking can not reproduce.
The chicken with the sauce is bursting with flavor and will make you a regular customer. Be warned though if you ask for the spicy sauce your nose...
