Papaye — Restaurant in New York

Having patronized Papaye Restaurant for some months now, I must say that I was very displeased with their service yesterday. It was one of those evenings, and I decided to place an order to be delivered. I ordered a plate of small jollof with goat meat, plantains, and puff puff on the side. The order went through and I waited patiently for delivery; upon delivery and getting to take out my order from its packaging, I noticed that my order was brought incomplete. I placed a quick call to the guy who delivered my order, and while he didn't respond, I decided to call the restaurant directly to report this observation. I informed them that the following were missing: 2 orders of puff puff, which will be 4 in total, and plantains, which I paid for 9 pieces but only received 3. I was told that they were out of puff puff and made the decision to send me "Kebab" instead. I asked why I wasn't called in the first place to inform before making decisions for something I was paying for. The representative from the restaurant then proceeded to tell me that I was going to get a call back to resolve the situation. Guys, would you believe that up until now, I am yet to receive a call, and to make matters worse, not even a single apology was rendered. I've been going to this restaurant for years. The previous people like Akos was always friendly. The restaurant never had a sense of urgency. They make you feel like they are doing you a favor. I just placed an order this evening and decided to call to remind them to send me my egg because they never do. The idiot that answered phone immediately greeted me and stated that I wrote too much concerning my order when I ordered through African Dish Out. I never spend less than $100 with these people and this dude had the audacity to make such a statement. I asked is this how you treat your customers by acting like a man with no manners? A great lineup of African cuisine options. As a picky eater, I usually stick to what I know but this time I wanted to try something different and I was pleased. The white rice with goat meat stew was good; I’m not a fan of spicy food so the savory flavors were put together very well. The plantain that I had added to the dish, gave it exactly what it needed. This is not my first time at the location so I can identify that the service could be better and more hospitable. I’m a person that likes to ask questions before purchasing or before inputting food into my body so I appreciate when people take the time to be attentive.
