Long story short. PLEASE BE AWARE that: *everyone is required to order a breakfast plate by restaurant policy, which I was told by my server. MOST IMPORTANT: This policy was not printed or listed on the menu at all.
It was a super unpleasant experience at my first diner experience in New York. I walked in with my friend and she was craving pancakes because she was travelling to America but I am not. I usually skip breakfast so I decided to get a cup of hot chocolate to start my day. My friend ordered her plate of pancakes. We did not plan to share, nor we did not.
I told the server that I only wanted a cup of hot chocolate. The server told me that, "by restaurant policy, everyone is required to order a breakfast." I was like what the, there is NO written minimum amount to spend nor this "policy" was not listed on the meum at all.
I told him that I do not eat breakfast and that I was not hungry at all. I just need a cup of hot chocolate. He insisted on telling me this was company policy. I asked if a side of house salad counts. He said "ok , but I am not your server", and he would ask if he could do it. I was like, what the, you aren't even my server and you trying to place the order for me? I have never experienced this situation happening in any American dining place before. This place made me, "Wow"?
Anyway, he came back and told me that he could place an order for an (overpriced) side of house salad and a cup of chocolate for me.
The only positive about this experience was that my friend truly enjoyed her overpriced pancakes, that's it.
I was not happy that the menu did not even list the minimum amount to spend, nor the policy of minimum order for each person. Shamed of you guys for having over 4 stars on Google review. And this place deserves less than 3 stars on Yelp as well.
I will never recommend this place to any of my friends traveling to New York until they fix their menu. My friends, please avoid this place and find a better place for a dining experience, until they clarify their policy on their menu. Stop making your customers feel trapped or tourist trapped, or confusing, or...

I opted for the avocado toast and the egg sandwich, and both dishes impressed me with their fresh flavors and satisfying presentation. The avocado toast was a standout: the perfectly ripe avocado was generously spread over toasted, crusty bread and accented with a delicate sprinkle of spices. Every bite offered a wonderful blend of creaminess and crunch. The egg sandwich, equally delightful, featured eggs cooked to perfection and served between soft, fresh cianata, making it both hearty and comforting.
The restaurant’s ambience added significantly to the overall experience. The interior is modern yet inviting, with tasteful decor and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel immediately welcome. Whether you are stopping by for a casual brunch or a relaxed dinner, Pershing Square offers a cozy setting that enhances your meal.
The wait staff deserves special mention. Friendly, attentive, and always ready with a smile, they contributed to the warm and accommodating vibe of the restaurant. Their prompt service and genuine care made the dining experience even more enjoyable, ensuring that everything from the food to the atmosphere was memorable.
What also impressed me was the value for money; the entire meal cost about $50, an excellent price considering the quality of the dishes and the overall experience. I left Pershing Square feeling satisfied and eager to return. In summary, this restaurant offers delicious food, an inviting ambience, and exceptional service, making it a must-visit spot in NYC. I wholeheartedly recommend it and look forward to my next visit.
Additionally, I appreciated the vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere during my meal. The fusion of fresh ingredients, modern decor, and friendly hospitality surpassed my expectations, making Pershing Square an unforgettable dining...

For a place that’s so central and historic, you’d expect it to be full, but it isn’t because of the terrible management.
We had a man greet us at the host stand, who I assumed was the manager, in a very hostile manner. Asking us, a group of 6ppl at 12:30pm, THREE different times to really read the menu before he’d seat us and promise him that we’d be order food. Even though after he asked us if we were getting food the first time, we assured him we would be. He then asked us to step aside, with no one behind us in line, to read the menus and make sure we’ll eat. We said yes yet again. And he said we only seat people in the back if they are eating. Because if we just wanted a coffee we’d sit in the front area which had uneven tables, chairs that wobbled and left uncared for.
After confirming three times that we’d be consuming food, he said he could seat us and asked if we wanted to sit outside. Which we didn’t, because it was 87 degrees outside. He then seated us in the front area where he referenced for drinks only.
I’ve dined here one other time and had great service and was ALLOWED to sit in the main dining room. But this time was absolutely horrible.
The food was good, but not amazing. We ordered three burgers, and they all came well done. Though we asked for medium, medium-rare and medium well. They were all “Buzz Burgers” which came with avocado and special aioli and none of them came with that. We had to ask for it.
Very disappointing because they had three burgers on the menu, veggie, turkey and beef. And if you order the beef patty it automatically comes with the avocado and aioli… so how is it that they...
