Sangria was watery, Food came out at different times for each guest. They forgot our drinks, brought out the wrong order 2 times, we ordered the oyster sandwich, they brought out chicken twice (took about 3 hours total) they charged the bill for a chicken and an oyster mushroom sandwich and only comped our drinks (that we didn’t get) as if they were doing us a favor. The service was terrible, they’re were only 2 servers for a busy weekend inside and outside (we sat outdoors) we pretty much saw our original waitress 3 times over the course of 3 hours 1 hour to get a side of salad dressing for the salad they forgot to add it to. When they saw we were stressed they sent over every manager (and hostess) in the place to ask us how our experience was, obviously i told them it was terrible and i could’ve gotten the salad dressing myself if they would let me in the kitchen. I would give this place negative stars if i could, while dining experience took hours and we had to extend our baby sitter. We left stressed out with no buzz, ended up hitting up another spot for drinks just to take the edge off from this experience. Oh and even the replacement waitress said “i can’t believe you’re not more upset” - oh i was. I don’t wanna hear “oh well they’re a new place” If you can’t handle the crowd, don’t open your doors. We wasted a lot of time here and left with a lot of aggravation. They’re also very pricy, portion size is small
**edit in response - the oyster mushroom sandwich wasn’t my order, it was my husbands, and wasn’t ripped to shreds, he was hungry, it took SO LONG to get any service, we were starving and thirsty firstly… he ripped it to show it was chicken not mushroom, the whole entire table agreed it was chicken so i guess all 5 of us were wrong. Had he not ripped it would you have served it to another guest? That’s disgusting…. The chicken sandwich was ordered by a guest at our table who agreed it took so long so he ended up cancelling the order which is how i believe we ended up with the chicken sandwich - he literally left before we got our food, so now we’re down to 4 total guest who agreed the second sandwich was in fact wrong again…. So i guess still 4 people are wrong? No one ever addressed or spoke to us about how the sandwich was made or what it should look like or the ingredients so your claim that your staff explained anything to us is absolutely false. I could be wrong in saying the items werent taken off the check, but i can’t imagine it was done correctly being that nothing else was, if by happen stance it was done accurately i do apologize - the rest of the table wouldn’t allow us to see it after they witnessed our terrible experience since we were invited there by others. - that’s the only thing i can’t 100% know for sure. - otherwise please pull camera footage and look at how long it took for us to get any type of service. You also haven’t addressed any other concern - not getting our drinks not having our food come out any time close to the other guests the watered down sangria the waitress neglecting out door area, and no dressing on the salad and taking an hour and having to ask 3 people for…. That speaks volumes… The fact that you think i would ever return to your business is absolutely wild and the over use of my full name as if it’s a threat is appalling. If you find it “rude” to tell you how disappointing my only experience was , that’s your problem, do better. It’s not rude to be honest. Would love to know how i was rude but i know i wasn’t. I was direct. Don’t take it personal. My review wasn’t meant to harm anyone’s livelihood, so don’t even go there. As a local I’ll make sure i take myself, my family, my friends and anyone else who asks me to the wharf where I’ll be able to have my food served in a friendly and timely manner with a water view over a place that treats their guests as if they don’t exist and that their time money and experience doesn’t matter/isn’t valued. Can’t wait for you guys to go out of business. I’ll be dancing on your businesses grave when...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a very poor experience at this restaurant. We arrived around 5pm on a Tuesday- there were 2 couples on the rooftop plus my 3 person party. There was one server/bartender- which lead us to seat ourselves and eventually served water 15 minutes after we were seated. Establishment is understaffed. The sever/bartender was trying his best. There was no dinner rush so we couldn’t understand why the severs on first floor weren’t helping much. We did flag a different server (and tried to flag down the manger with a crochet top) to ask to lower the blaring country music- we were unsuccessful as we were ignored. We decided to inform the server/bartender after 25 minutes of our time in the restaurant to cancel our food/beer order, due to being uncomfortable. Note: the manger watched us leave and followed us to another place of business across the street to harass and inform us that they do not cancel food orders and attempted to scold us for leaving a place that we were severely uncomfortable with. I was really unsure why she even followed us as we didn’t receive any food/drink and we canceled our order about 5 minutes after placing. This place has some work to do if they plan to succeed here in Far...
Read moreTypically, I do not venture that far into Rockaway for a bite to eat. However, my wife was going out to dinner with her sister and I had just gotten off the ferry from NYC. Rather than have leftovers, I decided I would check out the pilot house which I heard about from my neighbor. what a wonderful decision, I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the bartender Ciara. Being a Pennsylvania resident for 30 years, if they have Yuengling , I'm drinking it. The beer was cold refreshing and absolutely delicious. Having not eaten all day. I decided get an appetizer and a sandwich. In my opinion, The best judge for a bar appetizer food is the wings, I had garlic Parmesan. They were healthy sized wings with great favor. For my sandwich, I went with a Philly cheesesteak. as I said I'm from Pennsylvania, so I am a fairly good judge of cheesesteaks, though it may not rank up there with Philadelphia top cheesesteak places like Gino's and the like. It was excellent with great favor and meat was delicious. Overall, it was a great first impression. I was a little reluctant to do this review because I know by the end of the summer I won't be able to get in because it'll be packed. Good luck Amy, I think...
