Y’all out here selling plastic bottled water when you’re one block from the beach? Knowing that by 2050 there will be more plastic—in weight— in the ocean than fish? And knowing that not even 5% of the world’s plastic actually gets recycled?
We’re facing a biodiversity crisis that is rooted in such flagrant sale and consumption of products we tend to use just once. As a customer who came here after a day at the beach, it saddened me to see plastics being sold like this right next door.
There weren’t even recycling receptacles for the cans.
Luckily, you have options to be a better ocean-front business. You can start by stopping the sale of plastic bottle water, and instead canned water (aluminum can be infinitely recycled). You can also have real receptacles where customers can put their cans to be recycled. You can tell customers to fill their own bottles at the refill stand that you (wonderfully!) already have.
But enough with plastics by the beach! Thank you for considering. We need businesses to help their local ecosystems, and to empower their customers to buy better.
If a food spot is sustainable, I’m spending my money there. Great food, great service, but let’s see if we can limit...
Read moreI was hospitalized for three days and am still sick and recovering at home from eating a shrimp bowl at Super Burrito on Saturday, July 31, 2022. I contacted the restaurant and left a message for the owner but no one has gotten back. It was such a severe case it almost warranted surgery. I almost died in the hospital. I have never been this sick in my life and am still in pain more than a week later. The whole rest of the summer is now ruined for me as I have to convalesce from this. I also am now socked with thousands in medical bills, all from one bad-tasting, food poisoning-inducing shrimp bowl! I am also now afraid to ever eat my beloved seafood out again due to the severity of this food poisoning.
And, to make matters worse, It was the worst flavorless Mexican food I have ever had. It is bland, watery, and nasty. The salsa is like tomato sauce out of a can instead of salsa. I started to chuck it after a couple bites and am so mad I didn't follow my first instinct as I am now dealing with a long-term health issue from eating here. Stay far, far away. The food is nasty and it might make you sick or...
Read moreComing from the perspective of an employee, and a customer of the Rockaway location, I can say that Super Burrito has made every effort it has to satisfy customers. Their food is fresh, filling, delicious, full of options with the ability to edit, and I have to say, it really is "Super". When you come to either location (Rockaway or Williamsburg) and order a burrito, you'll see why the word "Super' precedes it. It's no joke. It's massive, and there's even a guide on how to eat it, but once you do, you'll want to come back for more. And thankfully, there are more options than what the name tells you alone; Bowls, burgers, tacos, fries, quesadillas, and specials that appear on certain days. Don't worry, you can always come back. (This review isn't sponsored or incentivised in any way, I just sincerely love the owners and how much they've poured into me whilst working there, and especially the crew who still support me to this day. Love y'all!) Eugene and Sam, good work and...
