I attended last night, August 17, the Satisfaction-Stones Tribute concert. The concert very good. The seating very comfortable and the evening very nice. However, I have one main complaint. The band and instruments were not set up in the middle of the stage. They played, sung and addressed only, and I mean only, the crowd seated on the left side facing the stage. At no time did the lead singer walk or even look to the right side facing the stage. The band must have known and seen that there was a crowd on both sides facing the stage. I have never in my life seen a performer sing and play to only one group throughout his performance. And how come the band was not set up in the middle of the stage? I hope someone in the concerts' management sees my comment and ensures this does not happen on...

I have seen many performances there..The Acoustics are perfect(the shape of the structure has much to do with the sound) and it could not be better...I performed playing drums there in the late 60's with a Jazz/R+R group...It holds a few hundred people...it is well kept and maintained..along with the carousel it is one of the finest parts of the park that has brought joy and happiness to people for over a century..still going strong...A beacon of Sound and LIGHT in one of the finest places in Forest park + NYC...The wonderful,entertaining + GLORIOUS...George...
Read moreThe bandshell is very nice and a good place to go wgen there is a show going on. Acoustics could be a bit better but its a outside venue so there us only do much they can do.
Overall its a great plave to go and there are some barbecue pits there but not very many of them. So my only downside to this is that its located off the beaten path with not much around it. It can also be a little tough to find if you dobt know where you are going.
