I love this place. It had a very old school field and comfortable atmosphere. And it's right next to one of my favorite bars. But let me not bore you with places outside of San Pedro. This bar / Taco experience was exactly what I needed being with an old friend. Immediately the first beautiful bartender had beautiful eyes that were very easy on mine. And then another bartender came out and she blast me into the past from anywhere around the 60s to the 70s. I think she was the main factor why I felt like I was in the past because she look like something straight out of a photo and they're Brigitte Bardot days. She was the balance of Yin and Yang. And then added to that was the tacos. They were delicious. Me and Dom had three everything tacos which consisted of carnitas carne asada mushroom and tongue. We also added a carnita and a mushroom taco to that order and everything was delightful. I spoke to the chef and the cook and they were very friendly and spoke openly about the process and the food which added even more to the experience of my day. But at the end of the day that bartender was the biggest Factor in my comfortability and reality throwback. I will be here again a lot for those tacos for the bartenders and for the...
Read moreReviewing for the food only: Been here many times and I’m really trying to love this place…but the prices hurt a little for the portions. Definitely more a bar than a restaurant and I guess it’s on van brunt so they gotta pay rent. Tacos are the solid go to here for a standard 3 for $15 price. The shrimp one might be the best around though, very juicy! However 15 bucks for a brunch breakfast burrito on the smaller side with no sides…idk just all over kind of underwhelming (see bar Bruno on Henry st instead) Service is always very friendly but on the slower side. It IS red hook so folks should chill out anyway.
IF you’re just looking for a late night bar to knock back high lifes and shots, then ignore my review. Each time I head out for a late night trip to San Pedro’s I always end up going to ice bar next...
Read moreWe were having bad luck with finding places to get food after our IKEA trip. We were hoping to just get food there but they were closing, then we tried another place that was too busy. I looked on my Google maps for nearby places in Red Hook and noticed I had pinned this place as a "Want to go", I can't remember why, but it was meant to be. It was a good busy outside and a few tables inside. Walking in... reminded me of another divey Mexican place in NYC that closed down (Tortilla Flats). The place looks super unique! The menu is small and simple, which is good for us very hungry people! We weren't going to drink, but when in a Mexican restaurant, we had to try their margaritas too! We got Caesar salad (which is amazing!), and 2 orders of 3 tacos (so good!). The service was good too! We will...
