Sabba's Chicken Harlem — Restaurant in New York

I am home recovering from surgery. I placed an order for dinner through Grub Hub. I leave instructions to please use contact free delivery and deliver the food directly to my apartment door.

My building does not have an elevator, I am on the 4th floor. Due to my recent surgery, I have very limited mobility and was alone at the time. I explain to the driver over the phone that I am unable to meet him downstairs unless he waits for me to walk down alone with my crutches which could take some time (about 10 minutes).

The delivery driver still insisted that he would not come upstairs- I was very upset and humiliated, but asked him to leave the food in the lobby then and I’ll pick it up when I can.

The delivery driver says he’ll leave my food downstairs. As I’m chatting with Grub Hub customer support- I ask a neighbor who lives downstairs if they could help bring me my food. My neighbor does not see any food left in our lobby or in front of my door.

I do not know if the driver took my food back to the restaurant or it was somehow stolen during that 10 minute window (not likely). But I never got my food and still was in a lot of pain and now very embarrassed.

Thankfully my meal was refunded, the manager called me and apologized to me for the delivery drivers actions. I appreciated the professionalism but the whole experience really soured me on this place. For these reasons I will not be ordering...

This is my absolute favorite place for delivery! I really should've written a review a long time ago, but I'd be writing a great review at least once a week. My husband and I have been ordering from them, for years, but we've only been there once (we were curious). It's cute, small, and very clean.

I can't say enough good things about their food. We've ordered several things from their menu (all delicious)... chicken, ribs, burgers, guacamole with chips made in-house, macaroni salad (I add tuna to it at home), gyro, milkshakes, etc., etc. The Greek grilled chicken salad (comes with warm pita) and the steak burrito bowl are my favorites and they're very large, so I get three meals out of each.

Delivery is fast, friendly, and the containers are very nicely secured. I tried to take an "after" pic of all the open containers, for this week's particular order of nachos, macaroni salad, and guacamole, but my husband was already digging into his order after I got off...

Food is what you expect from a chirping chicken. I have gotten the 1/4 chicken w/ a salad special twice. No complaints, standard rotisserie chicken.

My complaint is that the only two times I have been in this establishment to pick up my order, I have witnessed subpar treatment from the young ladies taking orders towards customers during both visits. The first time, a gentleman complained about the price of a bottle of water to which the young lady replied "so". Today, a gentleman complained about them servicing police officers that walked in after him before him. The young lady rolled her eyes, turned her head away from the customer as to dismiss his complaint, & and did not acknowledge his statement or offer an explanation of why he was skipped.

Staff needs to be trained to deal w customers in a better manner. I was treated fine both times but was very turned off by the treatment I saw...
