We had a 1:15pm reservation last Sunday and we were seated when we arrived around 1:10pm. HOWEVER, we waited over 10 minutes before our waiter stopped by and even longer for water to arrive. We ordered right away when the waiter finally came: a Country Skillet, a Reel Deal Bowl with Sesame Tuna and the Heirloom Tomato Watermelon Salad with Scallop. It took OVER 35 minutes to be served. When our dishes finally came, I was hugely disappointed that for a $16 upcharge, I got 4 small scallops for my salad, 2 out of 4 were charred and overcooked. My friend's Reel Deal Bowl had completely cooked through tuna, and the waiter tried to cover up the mistake by saying that the kitchen thinks fully cooked tuna is better for this dish, but when my friend placed the order the waiter said that the dish comes with medium rare tuna and wants to make sure my friend's aware! We're starving at the point, being seated for 50 minutes with nothing but water on the table. So I said to another waiter(because ours was MIA), to just give my friend another portion of the correctly cooked tuna so we can start eating, but the waiter insisted on taking her dish away. So we all sat there for another 10 minutes before he brought back the dish(thinking back we should have walked out then but we are too starved to think straight). Now her dish came back all wet with the medium rare tuna on top, we're kind of uncomfortable but given our state we had our meal anyway. This whole experience was such an ordeal with horrible service and overpriced food(because the price does not justify either taste or portion), I would not...
Read moreWe came looking for $1 oysters in Brooklyn. What we found was an overpriced bait-and-switch wrapped in dim lighting and indie vinyl ambiance.
Oysters (1/5) They advertised oysters on the happy hour menu—$18/dozen, which isn’t criminal if they’re pristine. But these weren’t. They were salty and briny, sure—but also fishy, not cold enough, and not fresh. There’s a difference between ocean flavor and decomposition. We got the latter. After we raised the concern directly to the chef and server, they quietly removed them from the bill—a move that confirms it: we were right.
Drink (1.5/5) Ordered a Grey Goose dirty martini. Received… something else. Not dirty. Not chilled correctly. No backbone. Just olives floating in what tasted like a well pour in disguise. At $15+, it felt more like a prop than a proper cocktail.
Vibe (3.5/5) Best part of the night was the music—specifically “If I Ever Feel Better” by Phoenix. It was the only thing that felt emotionally honest in the room.
Service (2.5/5) Polite, non-confrontational, but also avoidant. No one offered to taste the oysters before plating them. No real apology. They just knew, quietly, that they’d been clocked.

TL;DR: Seamore’s looks like the kind of place that’d deliver a solid Brooklyn seafood happy hour. But what it served was style over substance, masking freshness failures with good branding.
If you’re a tourist who doesn’t know oysters, you might not notice. But if you do? You’ll walk out like we did: annoyed, sober, and...
Read moreSeamores has been a staple restaurant for my family and I due to both the food and service. We love seafood so we get both the salmon and tuna crispy rices, which are impeccable. We also order the coconut shrimp which are perfectly cooked and paired with a sweet tropical dipping sauce. The crispy fish tacos, which we typically order with a side of chips and guac, are delicious, the fish, perfectly flaky and flavorful. The lobster mac and cheese is exactly what you want it to be---decadent, creamy, and full of large chunks of tender lobster. We recently tried the miso glazed salmon, which fired on all cylinders, and surprisingly, the ginger scallion rice was the star of this dish. The 'reel deal' we get is broccoli with almond pesto and scallops with red curry sauce. This is so good that it converted me---a former scallop hater to a scallop lover. The pesto on the broccolini perfectly compliments the natural salinity and freshness of the scallops. Of course, we have to get dessert and the churro ice cream sandwich is a showstopper (especially since I'm not typically a fan of churros). The salted caramel ice cream balances the sweetness and fluffiness of the churro. I have nothing bad to say about this establishment, and it has become a tradition that whenever my daughter comes back from college, we take her out to Seamores! The quality and freshness of the seafood is consistent each and every time and keeps us...
