Guide | How to Shoot Fashionable Photos in New York's Dumbo with a Photographer's Tips 💭💭💭💭 In this mini guide, I've included a few portrait photos I took in Dumbo previously to share how to capture that大片感 (big-shot vibe), and you can do it with just your phone! 🔥🔥🔥 #Dumbo[地点]# #纽约哪里好玩 #布鲁克林大桥[地点]# (Image 2) First, let's talk about the location of this intersection: the junction of Washington St and Water St. This is a spot everyone visiting Dumbo will pass by. Instead of just standing in the middle of the road for a typical tourist shot with the bridge as the backdrop, the photographer can crouch down to use the light, having the model stand in the brighter area. A slightly tilted composition intentionally emphasizes movement, and a wide-angle lens can make the perspective of the buildings in the frame more pronounced, enhancing the visual impact. A little tip: Every Wednesday morning from 8:30 to 9:00, Washington St. is closed for street cleaning, so if you want to capture the empty street scene reminiscent of "Once Upon a Time in America," try your luck on a Wednesday morning! 💭💭💭💭 (Image 1) Walking towards the river from the intersection, you'll find a park called Main Street Park. By the riverside, there's a pebble beach called Pebble Park, where many couples come to shoot wedding photos on sunny weekends. It's a great spot for photos. 💭💭💭💭 (Image 3) Heading west along the river, you'll see a carousel not far away, another frequently photographed spot. Note that its operating hours differ between summer and winter; it's closed on Tuesdays in summer, usually from 11am to 7pm, and open from Thursday to Sunday in winter, from 11am to 6pm. 💭💭💭💭 (Image 4) On cloudy days, you can use a wide-angle lens to capture the dynamic movement of the clouds. 💭💭💭💭 (Image 5) Symmetrical compositions allow the subject and the environment to blend seamlessly, creating a balanced image. There are two wooden boardwalks by the river in Dumbo, one on each side of the bridge, both great for photos. 💭💭💭💭 (Image 6) Walking two blocks south on Washington St brings you to the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge pedestrian walkway. The other entrance is near City Hall in Manhattan, across the river, easy to find. It usually takes about 45 minutes to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, but for photos, you can turn back after reaching about a third of the way to save time. 💭💭💭💭 (Image 7) If you walk across the bridge in the afternoon, you'll inevitably encounter crowds.
