OddFellows Ice Cream Co. — Restaurant in New York

Worst customer service ever. One staff serving icecreme, the other sat other side by the cashier eating. Person ahead of me were debating on what they wanted and I thought seeing the staff was waiting, I will ask her a question. she ignored me, so I waited. My turn, I asked her if all icecreams written on glass was available as only I think 10 was in the showcase, but saw other noted ones on stickers. She pointed to a board on the wall and said they all are there. Apparently the one i was interested in was to the side and not in showcase where you can see. I pointed to one and asked her if it was the guava flavor, to which she said it's numbered on the board. I ordered according to number . You have to order my by the number on the board with the named flavor. I got the cone, and turned to cashier to pay and the icecream top fell off the cone shell. I told the cashier it fell and asked if they will replace it. He told me to ask the server. I asked her but she ignored me. Then he told her and her response," did she clean it up?". He told me clean it. I asked with what? Can I have a plastic something so my hands don't get dirty? He said there's tissue. I said that's the first restaurant I went to that ask me to clean up after myself. He got angry and said I should have asked her to replace the icecream instead as he was on break. This was around 5pm. He said if i dont want to clean it just leave it. I waited for the icecream not sure I was getting it as she never responded yea or nay, and then she shoved a cup with it to me, even though I was holding the empty cone shell. I left with the thought, I am not going back. the non dairy mango guava...

My family and I found this across the Time Out NY market so decided to check it out on a hot Summer day.

Unfortunately, there's no sampling due to covid. The staff was also very careful with not having too many parties inside the store at once since standing space and seating is limited, which I appreciated.

I tried the Thai tea and it was so strong and good! I also had the Matcha passionfruit and the flavor was not bad but because it's Vegan, it's not as creamy so they had to serve on a cup as opposed to the cone and it wasn't as easy to get a full scoop. I also tried the exotic fruits sorbet (mango, guava, etc) and it was not bad but mainly tasted like mango.

Overall, the whole family was happy which is the point of ice...

Nice ice cream but won't be returning. I went with my family on vacation to get ice cream here and the person at the cashier was rude. Not very understanding that we are a hard of hearing family, some with hearing aids on and needed her to talk louder but she was sure loud when telling us she told us already. She was rude when we didn't give her a tip since all we wanted was a single pint of ice cream which we grabbed ourselves and didn't give us a receipt when we asked for one. They also were persistent on selling us extra stuff. Please train your staff better on how to work with people with disabilities. I'll try another location one day but never this one again....
