This place is a vibe. I went here with my wife and her coworkers for one of her girlfriend’s birthday and not gonna lie it was a great vibe. I have to admit that for the many years I’ve been visiting Harlem I’ve never went to Riverbank Park. At first i had mixed feelings about the park but once I entered the park all those mixed emotions went away. I thought it was gna be ā€œratchetā€ lol but it was completely the opposite. The park was clean and the grass was well cut and then upon entering the restaurant, the entrance was very clean as well. Entering the establishment that’s where the vibe shift happened for me bcuz it was not what I expected. The vibe was on point, the host greeted us right away and the wait time was minimal at best but that could’ve been because of the time we got there which was around 9 p.m. The waitress came right away and took our drinks order and man the drinks were hitting lol. I had the Rum Punch, my wife had the Lychee martini and another coworker had some white Sangria and others had regular cocktail but alll the drinks were hitting. For appetizers we had the Cuban and Beef empanadas and they were GREAT! For dinner I had the Delicious Fried Red Snapper with stuffed clams, calamari, shrimp, muscles with a side of Rice and Beans and omg it was well cooked and I ate every bit of it. My wife had the Steak with mashed potatoes medium temperature and even that was deliciousšŸ˜‹. Her coworkers had a bunch of other stuff but I don’t quite remember the names of the dishes but I had a taste of it all and yum yum yum 🤤 it was. I would definitely recommend checking the restaurant out if you in the area or just looking for great Spanish food. Service was A1 and food A1 and drinks as I said was A1+. I’ll leave pics to give you an idea of what you can expect when you visit. Thank me later guys šŸ«”šŸ‘ŠšŸ¾.

So I had frequented their Midtown East location back in the day quite a bit with co-workers etc. I recall having an enjoyable experience and them damn hypnotic martinis or some hypnotic concoction that use to do us in a good way (most days/times........ depended 😁😁😁). I digress.........so the Riverbank location I had no idea........who knew because throughout my childhood Riverbank was a no go zone it smelled funny and we didn't know why so it we were never fans as we later understood the Park sat a top a sewage treatment plant. So when a girlfriend suggested this spot outside of my general fear of it being on top of a sewage treatment plant (no clue if it is still operation).......I was curious has to how this Sofrito was I believe the Midtown East location closed some time ago. But surprisingly there was no signs of the treatment plant. The view decent thank God for hot yet great weather. So lets discuss the establishment itself........ the decor inside was simple but doable, a little club'ish. I'd like to see the outside jazzed up, but I guess the view is suppose to do that. Still think a little something could be done. The staff needs to be better trained from the bar to waiters.......overall they need to be more attentive and the bartenders need to be quicker on service fillingnand closing orders. With that said overall we weren't pissed about service. As for the food as a foodie it wasn't the best I have had nor too bad everything was seasoned well as appetizers and entrees go. I do recall the Midtown East location having amazing food. This location is subpar, I have had better at a local Spanish spot in the hood. Will it be my top go to no, but it's a decent local spot if you need a cool place with a DJ to just hang with a view.

Upon entering, you're immediately greeted by a gentleman holding the door, ensuring you're wearing your mask & then greeted by a hostess. She let us know we'll be dining out on the backyard patio & were quickly ushered there. As we walk through the threshold, you're embraced by the warm ambience of the hanging lights & the DJ playing old school hip-hop. While jamming to a familiar tune, we proceeded to find the full menu via scan code. It wasn't difficult but for me, it took away from the special dining experience. We, in turn, ordered two apperizers: shrimp skewers & calamari. Both were delicious! I ordered shrimp w/plantains, to go. It's no good, the day after. Disappointing. For a cocktail, I ordered a double & beware because the server failed to tell me this drink was actually $26.00! I wanted a single, for my second drink but they obviously, made me another double. The total for the two drinks was $52.00. My fiance' & I were floored! Funny, how the drink menu is not included in the main menu (that you scan to phone). Just know that when you order a drink that's not listed on the cocktail menu, make sure you ask those pertinent questions regarding price or you'll regret it, like we did. I enjoyed the ambience & my appetizers but the customer service experience wasn't a good one & we left feeling jilted & probably won't be returning. Nice place for appetizers & listening to some cool music. Order at your own risk. Good luck & enjoy!

my family and I went to this establishment this past Saturday and there were many things wrong with this management and there was a lack of professional behavior. first I made an appointment first, I made a reservation weeks ago for my birthday dinner and the day of the dinner I was sent a form to fill out for what preset menu I wanted which is ridiculous because I made this reservation weeks ago and they should've sent me this form earlier and I did tell them all the information before hand when I first called to make the reservation. Second, A majority of my party was there at 7:30 and the rest of us arrive at 7:50 my reservation was set for 8 o'clock so we all arrived early we had to wait quite some time to get seated but when we got to our table it was in a corner and there was a column foundation right between two of the seats and it was very squished for my party of eight so I kindly asked the hostess if we may slide over to the empty table that had a lot more room and she released said that it was reserved for people with reservations and I stated that I did have a reservation that I made weeks ago. The hostess brought us back to the waiting area where we waited for 45 to 50 minutes for another table. When we finally sat down all was well and the food was delicious. I asked the waiter if he could bring me my birthday cake that the hostess insisted that the store in the kitchen area when I have no problem keeping it at our table the waiter came back to the table without the cake and said that the cake was messed up which made no sense because I had someone holding the cake very flat and continuously checking on it before we got to the restaurant before we handed it off to the hostess to put away so this means that the cake could have only been messed up between the time it was handed to the hostess and the time was in the kitchen. The waiter proceeded to say that he was going to try to fix the cake and later when they brought out the cake, a lot of the front top of the cake had icing missing which showed that it was tilted forward and eventually talk touched the box and it looked very bad. I called over the manager to talk about the situation but he denied any responsibility and refused to help situation and handle the situation which is very unprofessional he was very rude then I was speaking to the manager and the owner of the establishment and he also refused to help at all. my family ended up having to leave the building well I had to stay back and talk to the owner and security would not let my family back in even my daughter to give me my purse so I can pay for the dinner. When my daughter came in to give me my purse to pay for the dinner the security guard in the front who is twice her size in height and weight, manhandled her and drag her back outside and got the cops his attention when all she did was walk into the front entrance even after the security in the front said he would score her inside to give me my purse . overall, the food was great however service was terrible all around from security, to the hostess, to the manager, and even the owner. I do not recommend that you go to this establishment because you will experience some form of a...

This Review is going to be lengthy review...my wife and I went there for our wedding anniversary, so we made reservations. I called and spoke with Jaime to confirm our reservation not only was she very unprofessional but very nasty and dismissive with me, which was the first interaction with someone at the restaurant and did not want to allow that to hinder our perception on the business. gave her the benefit of a doubt maybe she has no customer service training , she may be new employee so I disregarded her behavior. Upon arrival music was exaggeratedly loud that I could not hear myself think and by the end of my visit my ears where ringing. my wife proceeded to inform the hostess that we have reservations when asked if we would like sit indoors or outdoors,my wife responded outdoors assuming that it would be a little less louder than indoors. the darling hostess reacted like it was such an inconvenience to escort us there with such a nasty expression, surprisingly there was a second hostess Who escorted us outdoors seating area As we arrive we were asked where would you like to sit pointed to the middle isle in which we proceeded to sit. Did we mention music was even louder than indoors. The male afrolatino waiter complained to her and seem to have an issue to where we chose to sit, I figure it had nothing to do with us. The waiter did not introduce himself gave us menus gave us about 7 minutes until he returned and took our orders during the appetizers and dinner he did not once check on us and had to get his attention for the bill. the presentation on the food looked like they just threw the food on the plate while other who obviously had the same order and was beautifully presented. As the evening came along it started to drizzle. The waiters were kind enough to open the umbrella but it was obvious that they were accommodating more of the lighter skin Latinos then us... my first experience here I found it to be treated with disrespect and discriminated against and honesty I wouldn’t know if is because my spouse was African American or the fact that we were 2 women One being a Light skin Latina, The service was disgusting I did not appreciate the way we were treated specially when we are paying for the service, In addition we had made reservations for Monday for 20 guest to celebrate my son’s graduation, and now I am canceling because I do not appreciate the disrespect at an establishment where I am paying to eat. The food was good but not Good enough to return to be...

Went for a birthday celebration. The bartender was nice, but the drinks were terrible. I thought it was just mine, but my cousin confirmed that the guy put too much ice in all of our frozen drinks, and they were crunchy and weak in flavor. I don't know if that's how the restaurant trained him to do the drinks, or if it's just his skill. My other cousin went back for a drink from a different bartender. That one was less friendly but the drinks were better! (That seems to be the standard with bars in NYC- the mean people make better drinks) The restaurant ambience was much better than I expected and the DJ was on point! Then came the food. My empanadas tasted like they were fried in lard- not very tasty to me. But my cousin loved her veggie empanada. The main dishes all looked appetizing. The arroz con pollo looked worth writing home about and my cousin said it tasted very good. The fried chicken looked crispy and delicious. The salmon dish looked fit for royalty and was very well plated. The mofongo with ropa vieja could have been plated a little better, but everyone else said it looked delicious. The meat was very moist, tender, and flavorful. But the best part for me was the mofongo. I've had some hard, dry mofongo. I've had some crispy mofongo. This mofongo was perfect! It definitely made the dish. I would have liked some other vegetable with the dish added as a side: maybe peppers or something. But the mofongo was so good, I kept eating even after I was full! I wanted to save some to take home, but that moisture and flavor was very enjoyable. While some of the servers could have been a little friendlier, they did a good job keeping the water glasses full and tables clean. I get very thirsty when I eat, so I appreciated not having to flag down a waiter for water. I haven't seen a restaurant with designated water pourers since my college days in North Carolina, over 20 years ago! I would recommend this restaurant for dinner or for a hangout at the bar. Not sure if they do a club thing after, but if they use that same dj, it's definitely worth a trip to chill with a tasty bite and good vibes. And don't bring a cake for them to cut unless you want to pay $5 a slice. Seriously, they could have given us a knife and let us cut it ourselves. Given that we spent almost $600 total, I wasn't happy that we couldn't enjoy the...
