We walked in after hunger had hit us and we were hard-pressed to find something in the neighborhood at reasonable prices, vegetarian-friendly, AND healthy - didn't involve dollops of cheese.

It's an unassuming place with an interesting ambience and a kitchen that is not closed off. It's like being at a food festival where the cooking area with the grills and chefs are all directly in front of you, but there is also exclusive closed seating space covered with brick and mortar. While this struck us as odd when we first got in, it grew on us over the course of the lovely meal.

The service is extremely friendly and prompt. What stunned not just us, but all our neighbors (at tables all around, that allows a maximum seating of about 15 people tops) is the portion size. The portion sizes are unexpectedly huge, making the prices completely reasonable. The food is SO fresh. The ingredients look farm-to-table. Even the fries are so fresh and light. You don't feel your arteries clogging up as you chow them down. We got the vegetarian panini and the caprese salad. Among the best that we've had - both of them! The mozzarella, I gotta say, was so fresh and yummy.

Over the hour or two that we were there, we could see several regulars being recognized by face and picking up food that was already waiting for them. Not surprised! It's that kinda place.

The experience left us with a happy food-high that led to a comatose stroll all around the neighborhood, transforming a chore-day-saturday into a happy,...

Let me start by saying this cozy family restaurant led by owner/Chef Eduardo has amazing food. While most of the seating is for 2, they rearranged a few tables to accommodate my dinner party of 3. The philosophy of Trufa, "quality ingredients from unique recipes, improving classic American staples... carefully creating a diverse menu," for ALL

We started with the Hamilton Heights Empanadas, which were flaky, seasoned well and topped off just right with a jalapeño cilantro aioli The New England Clam Chowder, is a neighborhood fav, at 10:30pm there was only 1 order left, which was packed with clams and let me know it's made fresh daily.

The specials were enticing and 2 of the 3 of us had one, the last choosing a pasta staple.

All of our entrees were artfully presented and Delicious.

While I finished all of my Black and White mixed seafood pasta, each of my dinner companions took food home.

While I am not in Hamilton Heights often, I can definitely recommend Trufa and see why this family gem is a go to of the...

Picture this: a culinary masterpiece that transcends the ordinary, captivating not just your taste buds but your entire sensory experience. As you take the first bite, a symphony of flavors dances on your palate, orchestrated by the skilled hands of a master chef. The dish is a canvas of vibrant colors and textures, each element carefully curated to harmonize with the next. The aroma wafts through the air, a tantalizing prelude to the explosion of taste that follows. The ingredients, sourced with precision and care, tell a story of terroir and craftsmanship. The perfect balance of sweet, savory, and umami creates a melody that lingers on your tongue, leaving you craving more. Every morsel is a journey, a revelation of culinary ingenuity that transcends mere sustenance. This is not just food; this is an art form, a celebration of gastronomic excellence that elevates the act of eating into a sublime experience. This is me and my Wife right after this masterclass of a meal. Truly truly...

I was longing to try Trufa’s food so I ordered some for delivery tonight. I went for Spinach Ravioli with pink sauce topped with ricotta and Chicken Sorrentino which is a meal in itself. The ravioli were very good! Delicate pasta filled with spinach, complemented by the creamy pink sauce, which I found the slightly lacking in salt (but it’s just my personal taste), the dish was very satisfying. The Chicken Sorrentino was the standout. Featuring layers of juicy chicken, eggplant, mozzarella, and bacon, with mashed potatoes and perfectly steamed vegetables sautéed with garlic that completed the meal beautifully. They do their own deliveries and were very fast. This experience left me eager to explore more of Trufa’s menu. Their attention to detail and robust flavors make them a great spot to try. I also liked the postcard of the artist stapled to the delivery bag. I’ll definitely be visiting soon!
