Steph's Cake Shop — Restaurant in New York

Steph is a beautiful soul. Typical to go to a Caribbean establishment and feel like you're begging for something with the attitude of the people... But everyone here is tremendously warm and friendly. I usually get bread and pastry and have recommended everyone to come here. Had a small birthday party for my friend so I Ordered a 12 inch pineapple and butter cream filling cake.... And finally, I know I don't have to go hunting for the perfect cake anymore! Taste was supreme,moist and well crafted! I wanted it plain because we had cake toppers and candles but she can definitely add whatever you want. This is my cake shop. Already, 4 persons from the party are asking where I got the cake. It was really that good. Price was only $50....

I ordered over $50 worth of food on Christmas Day(that’s what I get for being lazy). The stew fish was more like steam fish that was lacking seasoning and it was dry, the rice and peas was tasteless.I also ordered boneless chicken roti which was also tasteless and the chicken was tough. Sweet potato pone(my favorite) was so disgusting that I threw it away. I will never spend my money at this establishment again. But they did call me to inform me that they didn’t have any oil down, which now I’m happy that they didn’t because I know I would’ve been disappointed...

I had fish rice and peas and cabbage was amazing. I love the peppers and onions on the top! I only gave 4 and not 5 stars because there was about 3 things she ran out of . As a pescatarian it's already a challenging finding good quality food at a decent price so it would help to have signs up of what you run out of just to help people be ready for you when they come order. So five stars for taste and presentation . Four stars for not enough options or not enough staff to produce what you are saying you have. I will try again when I am in that...
