The Avenue Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in New York

I was so excited to find this place, we live so close, it seemed like a gem in the rough, great and reasonably priced brunch, we quickly started coming once a week this summer! But then one day, as we were enjoying our brunch, we overheard one of the "regulars" talking about us to the bartender. The older man was complaining that the "What's with these people being here?" To which the bartender replied, "the brunch deal brings in a different sort of crowd" and the two of them began to laugh loudly. I looked around an saw 2 other "young" couples also minding their business and enjoying brunch, it really made us feel unwanted and extremely uncomfortable, we left shortly after. I asked my boyfriend why we never go there anymore, and he said he's still upset about how the bartender laughed at us. I really want to give this place another chance, the food was great and the other times we had been there no one mocked us for being there, maybe someday he will let me take him there for another chance, but it really put a bad taste in our mouths to make us feel so unwelcome...

I called the Avenue from out of state to have food delivered for family who lost their loved one. Rob, the owner was extremely helpful, honest and kind in organizing a catering order to feed about 10 people for a few days. With in a few hours, after speaking, the food was delivered to the family ready to eat. I received pictures and an abundance of compliments about how delicious the food was and how the choices were spot on. I ordered trays; pasta, wings, sandwiches, chicken, and a salad. This restaurant has a wide variety of choices so there's lots to choose from. I will definitely call again if I should ever need food delivered in the area again, AND I will definitely take a trip there on my next visit to NY so I can personally thank Rob for his help and eat some of this delicious...

I've had a great experience everytime I came here. Was recently in for Easter brunch with no reservation and was accommadated. Food was delicious! Seems to get better with every visit. Large portions. More than reasonably priced. Service is always great. Honestly we would be regulars if I didnt have a toddler at home! They have events that I am really trying to make it to. I have done wing wednesdays and I love their wings. Ive seen they do karaoke nights, comedy nights and other themed nights but I havent checked them out yet. It is worth noting that they are also baby accomodating. High chairs and a kids menu and its not too loud. The bathroom is on the smaller size and doesnt have a changing station though so it can be tough to...
