At the root of these challenges is maintaining consistently a high standard of food and hospitality. This is key to longevity and success. One way we address the aforementioned challenge is to train our kitchen staff on how to prepare our dishes, right after I've developed the new dish. Even if it’s not a dish typically prepared from that person’s station. To further aid our team, we created a recipe book with pictures and a description for each and every menu item. . One of the things I value most is creative freedom amongst our team. An environment that is conducive to creativity will ultimately be an incubator for unique and exciting dishes as well as elevated service ideas. How to do this? In one word - LOVE !! Some people rule by fear, some people rule by respect, but when you truly love your team, they love you back! Love is the greatest driver for someone to do the right thing and take pride in their work. . I want people to experience, a dining experience that marries the warmth of a cozy stone cottage with gourmet contemporary American cuisine and impeccable service. I live for creating dishes that are innovative and unique. There is nothing more satisfying for me than presenting food in a way that someone has never tried before and watch them discover it’s deliciousness." ~ Peter (Chef & Owner @thestonehouseatclovelakes)

First of f let me say that my 4 Stars is not meant to say that my visit to the Stone House was bad in any way. It just means that it has potential and deserves a second visit at a later date. Here goes. My wife arrived and dropped off the car at their valley parking lot and we're greeted by a pleasant kid who pointed us to the entrance. When on the property, we were greeted by the rustic atmosphere of the old country. There was a fountain at the center of the courtyard and a gazibo which is there for weddings. As we entered the front door, we we're greeted by the hostess which recalled me and my annoying personally and yet did not make a deal of it. We were given the choice to sit in the main house with the rustic old cottage feeling to it or to sit outside on the patio. Let me tell you that both choices you will not regret. We chose the patio which overlooked the lake and the wild life. The view is great. The baby loved looking at the docks and the turtles swimming in the lake. The cool breeze was welcoming and the staff were polight. Another thing use the patio if you have little kids. Fresh air and nature keeps them entertained. For the food. The price is $$ and is worth the every penny. I wanted to get seafood noodle dish but was concerned about the spicy flavor since I was sharing with the baby. The waiter was polight and offered an alternative which was a good choice. And my wife chose the fish fillet with veggies. In my opinion, both dishes were not too big, but hit the spot. An as for the baby, the creamy noodles from my seafood dish went over spectacularly with the baby. Over all, I will take my wife and will update the rating to 5 Start.

I recently attended a wedding event at The Stone House at Clove Lakes, and I was absolutely blown away by how stunning the venue is. Nestled within the natural beauty of Clove Lakes Park, this place feels like a hidden gem tucked away from the bustle of the city. The setting alone is picture-perfect — a charming stone building surrounded by serene water, lush greenery, and graceful willow trees. It felt like we stepped into a fairy tale. The wedding event was amazing the lake as the backdrop, and the atmosphere was both romantic and peaceful. As the sun set, the reflections on the water created a magical glow that made the whole evening feel even more special. Inside, the venue was equally elegant. The warm lighting, rustic stone details, and tasteful décor gave it a cozy yet refined vibe — ideal for an intimate celebration. The staff was professional and attentive throughout the entire event. Everything ran smoothly, from the ceremony to the reception. The food was excellent, with beautifully presented dishes and rich flavors that matched the elegance of the evening. It’s clear that The Stone House prioritizes both quality and experience. Overall, it was an unforgettable event in a truly enchanting setting. Whether you're planning an event or just attending at the venue it won't be forgotten, The Stone House at Clove Lakes offers an atmosphere that makes any special occasion feel even more meaningful. I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful place to celebrate love. I would highly recommend coming to this venue and experiencing an amazing time enjoying the facility and scenery.

I took my wife there for her birthday. It really is an amazing place. We had reservations for 6, but got there at 5 for happy hour (3-7pm, specials at bar only) It was a Wednesday and not crowded at all. The drink specials were great... Luis really knows how to put the drinks together. My wife got the berry lychee martini and she said it was to die for. Heck, I even liked it and I'm def not a martini guy. The red sangria was really good too. It tasted better straight out if the glass rather then sipping through the straw. I would have liked more fruit in it... like pineapple chunks and such, but it did have apples and orange in it. Since we had a dinner res we didn't try any of the happy hour apps so I can't comment on that, but if they are even close to as good as our supper was, then they are delicious. We ordered off the Prix Fixe because it just seemed like a better deal. I wanted the 1/2 roasted chicken. Off the reg menu it was $24 and came with heirloom potatoes, string beans, and (a light) pan gravy. Off the Prix Fixe menu it also comes with a starter (I got stuffed mushrooms) AND a dessert for $29.95. I'm not the world's smartest guy, but to me it was a no brainer. Prix Fixe aaallll day! My wife got the pork chop with sweet potatoes. It was kinda spicy, but she likes it hot so it was all good for her. For her starter she got some kind of lobster bisque. It had pretty nice size chunks of lobster in it was was very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. She moaned so much while eating it I started to sweat a little ( insert when Harry met Sally here) She said it was the best she ever had. Even though I don't like seafood I tasted it and it was really good, but just not for me. For dessert she got the chocolate layer cake and I got the butter parfait thingy which was outta this world good. Plus it came in a little mason jar which is more my style. After we were finished, we took our drinks outside and sat in the gazebo on the lake. It was just a really great evening. Oh yeah... before we decided on the Prix Fixe we ordered the Pear and Blue Cheese empanadas. These things were soooo good I can't even tell you. All in all the total bill was $113.00 before tip. It's a little out of our range, but we don't go to places like this all that often and it was a special occasion. For what we got ... food and experience wise ... It was well worth it. The place itself sits on Clove Lake and when you park, you walk across a stone bridge. You can rent row or paddle boats ($15/hr.) and also walk around the park. Totally cool place that we would both recommend and visit again. We are from Jersey (exit 117) and the drive was a breeze. A little traffic on the way there, but no biggie. We headed home around 930pm and the drive home was cake. If your looking to try someplace you've never been before, this is the place. Iy did start to get busy around 7. If you do try it, we hope your experience was as good as ours....

This place gets some stars for the location/ambiance - the restaurant is really pretty and in a great location. The park surrounding it is very nice and great to walk around in after your meal. Just make sure you set aside plenty of time for that meal.

I went for a brunch service on Sunday with two other people. We made a reservation but that wasn't really necessary as it wasn't packed. We did the prix fixe and things started smoothly - although the server said he'd come back later to take dessert orders which proved a key mistake. I got the jalapeno-cucumber bloody mary and it was actually pretty good - I recommend it over the regular one where the vodka was overpowering.

We got the entrees and they were just alright. I did the salmon BLT which really shouldn't exist - the bacon didn't add anything to the fish and just made it overall fattier for no reason. The bottom of the sandwich also got incredibly soggy and I can't tell if that was because of oil or moisture. My girlfriend got the lamb burger and the toppings were good but the burger was also incredibly moist - I'm pretty sure it was a frozen patty which is fine but at least have them thawed before a service. What was strange is that my sandwich came with sweet potato fries but the burger came with regular fries and the menu doesn't indicate that fries are even included. The server didn't ask us which ones we wanted. They sort of just showed up. My mom got the smoked salmon tacos which were actually a pretty clever take on salmon and lox but could have used more flavor.

This is where it goes south as we waited for our waiter to return to take our dessert orders. And waited another half hour. Eventually we had to ask a busboy to flag down our waiter who emerged looking confused and admitting to having forgotten about us. We placed our dessert orders to go since we had already been there so long and settled up the check.

The punchline is that later that day we opened our desserts to find that instead of the parfait we ordered we had gotten the cheesecake.

As we were exploring the lake after our meal we saw they had a large catered event going on in the back which is maybe what led to the distracted service. Who knows? I may give this place another try in the summer for dinner but definitely won't be returning for the brunch. The poor service takes mediocre food and makes...

I rarely ever make reviews however I felt the need to warn anyone else that decides to eat here during the holidays or in general to host a party here. Every year my family and I go out on Christmas Eve to celebrate. Yesterday we had reservations for 7pm and arrived on time, we were sat inside of the ‘lake room’. First of all it was absolutely freezing in the room, they did have heater which did not provide much comfort. My sister decided to ask the host if it was possible we sat upstairs because it was unbearable sitting there with a child too, which they agreed to and placed us upstairs. We were never provided with cutlery, napkins, or water once upstairs. I had requested it after a certain amount of time, unfortunately the waiter drop the water everywhere and never came back to provide us with new cutlery, water, or napkins after removing it from the table. Additionally, the waiter clearly was not fond of our change of seats, he not only had an attitude the entire time but started making snarky remarks to my sister. She was nice enough to move her chair forward to provide the waiter with some room as the tables were closely together and the waiter responds “you’re not in my way, you’re just cold”. The waiter never came to check on us. We were there for 3 hours and the only time he came around was to collect our plates. I had to ask for a beverage 3 times before receiving it. The food was not that great, also you can tell the cake was not fresh and some of the food was microwaved. They automatically charged a gratuity of $82 on the bill which I was planning on not leaving any tip after the ‘service’ we received. It is disgraceful that my family and myself paid $550 for such a horrible experience. Lastly, the restaurant was not that busy to even give them the benefit of the doubt since the were clearly well-staffed. Additionally, parties that were seated well after us were accommodated before us. The way we were treated just because we asked to be place some where else due to lack of warmth was unacceptable. I will never come back here, I would never advise anyone else to dine here. Way to...
