Yeah I'll be back! Again and again and again.
Going to Tip Top is a treat for me these days as gone is the 2014/15 era when I lived one minute away.
Isn't it awful how we judge a book by it's cover? On my first visit, I was told that this joint was just for a mature (they said old) crowd and judging from the look of it I thought "nah, not my cuppa tea". I should have know better. I march to my own beat.
Clinton Hill! This is your spot! The drinks reasonable! The staff mature and the decor definitely dive of the year!
As you walk in there's a long main bar. If you turn and walk right, you'll get to what is traditionally known as a "sweatbox". In this space, sometimes, some heavy dancing (ie sweating) goes down. There's sometimes a little bar area here to the opposite end of the DJ.
There's a "lounge" area at the back that seems to turn storage, turn domino/card room, turn smoking room. It's the craziest, most amazing "room". HOWEVER, I've noticed a shift here since the machine has been churning heavily in this area of BKLYN. The back has started looking different as the "just moved in folks" are leaving their mark through "hosting" events here. Shrugs.
Anyway, back to TT, I've even been here for an "End Of Year Christmas Party" and had the most wonderful time with the thank you Caribbean and South Dishes.
The vibe, definitely awrite!
Yeah, I'll be...

The bar is operated by 3 incredible women and on occasion they enlist the help of their other family members and their beloved bartender Rudee. Everyone in this bar has a lot to say and a lot of wisdom to share. You don't come here for fancy cocktails and wines, you come here because the drinks are strong, affordable, and straight no chaser. They have a modern jukebox that has almost any and every song you could think of, and when they aren't using the jukebox it's because there's a group hosting an event and they have their own djs show up.
Every month they have events ranging from comedy shows, to birthday parties, and even their latest collaboration with Sterling Place Productions; a backyard night market and after party. Which left vendors satisfied, guests joyful and fed, and the...
Read moreI visited Tip Top this weekend on my mini vacay to Brooklyn NY from DC and I love this bar. The Rum Punch was 10/10. It’s not too sweet but it is delicious and strong. What I enjoyed most was the service and the people giving the service. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming even the other guest. Linda who was bartending that night was so nice. Unfortunately I have forgotten the other woman’s name but I think she makes the Jell-O shots. They were good and not watery. She was awesome as well. Me and my friend really enjoyed the people, atmosphere, conversations and of course the drinks. I enjoyed myself so much I came back before I left to have another Rum Punch. Next time I visit I will come hungry because I could tell by they ladies who work there the food will be good and...
