@ this place, you can pick your own items (meats, vegetables, and tofu, etc) then the boss will weight it behind the countertop and give you a price. The meat is $9/lb and vegetable is $8/lb (doesn't matter thought- you won't get to see the actual weight. No transparent on the weight & price) because the scale is behind the counter, and you cant see the number. The price is determine by the boss. If you only get small potion, it will cost you more, minimal is $30. Then they bring the uncooked food to the kitchen, the guy will stir with their sauce. You can choose mild, medium, and very spicy. Hold on, actually first they will ask how many people you are ordering for (this will determine how many bowl rice they going to give you), if you tell them it is for 2 people, and then you order $100 of food, they will still give you 2 bowl of rice. So you better tell him you are ordering for 5-6 people, so you get 5-6 bowl of rice. Rice portion is very very small. One person will probably need 2 bowls (average size human). Ok, the guy finished stir fry the food, then they pack it and give you to you. You pay the money, and then you are ready to go home and eat. If you have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or gout, do you self a favor, don't order this. It will not be good for you. Otherwise, you can enjoy once in a...
Read moreThe taste is alright for the neighborhood. Shrimps or other thicker ingredients might be a little undercooked (I assume all ingredients are mixed together and boiled/fried before they are stir fried so the cooks can save time). The same problem with all pay-by-weight stores. They try to get as much as possible in the bowl so you pay more. I have to tell them it is for person, but you will end up paying anywhere between 25-30 dollar. Man, I just want more options in the bowl and don't want to have 2-3 meats with 3-4 vegs. It's annoying. And since it's for one person, I only get one order of rice. I always end up with leftovers which I might or might not eat again. If I say it's for 2 ppl, then it'll be something like 35 dollars give or take a few dollars. One more thing, I suspect they don't use hua jiao which gives the food ma flavor. They might use hua jiao oil or other substitute to mimic the ma lai flavor which is disappointing. Edit: even more aggressive in portioning so you end up paying 40-50 (doesn't matter if you tell them it's for one person or two/always tell them the number that's smaller than the actual number of people.)for 5 choices of protein and veg's. They are very condescending when told not to over...
Read moreHi friends! I’m continuing my journey through Asian cuisine to find great spots that offer amazing quality at low prices and this place truly makes me feel like a winner.
I discovered this incredible restaurant where you can customize your plate by choosing your own toppings. Then, the chef cooks it right in front of you with impressive skill, making the whole experience both fun and delicious.
The atmosphere is cozy, with authentic Asian decor, and the staff is friendly and helpful some even speak perfect English, which is a plus. The only downside is that the dining area can get a bit noisy, but that’s part of the cultural vibe and energy.
I’m giving them a full five stars for both quality and price. I highly recommend you try this place you won’t be...
