Xing's Chef — Restaurant in New York

Location is convenient and food is fresh and tasty. Having previously lived in Flushing off Main street in the center of Mandarin Town, I can attest to the culinary quality - especially in comparison to my previous neighborhood. However, due to the popularity, they are always busy. It is especially atrocious on Friday when they appear to be overwhelmed by orders. This is family owned and operated which translates into being cheap and short handed, thus getting orders mixed up or incorrect. As such, 3 stars is the best I can do considering the service or lack thereof. During the warmer months, the interior often served as a daycare as well. A small Chinese boy would often yell with extreme exuberance "HI" to anyone entering and leaving. After the first few dozen times, it gets rather annoying. Long time Steinway Ditmars resident. Unfortunately our area has many Chinese restaurants that are sub par. I've been ordering from here for quite a few years. After trying most of the places within my delivery range I find that this is the best Chinese restaurant for American style take out/delivery in the area. XING'S CHEF has become my regular go to Chinese Takeout/Delivery Restaurant. The food is consistently good to great, flavorful and fresh. They more than meet my expectations for quality Chinese Takeout/Delivery in the Astoria/Ditmars area. Their customer service is excellent from the moment the friendly voiced woman answers the phone and takes your order accurately, graciously and efficiently.
