On December 24, 2018, at or about 11:23 am, I was at your restaurant along with my brother. I had visit the restaurant on numerous occasions over the years and upon entering it was unusually dark and was greeted by middle aged man with a filthy uniform which appeared to be food. There was a woman worker standing in the greeting area, who did not greet (we found out later that she was our waitress). When asked , what we wanted before our main entree' I requested coffee and my brother tea. It was ten minutes later, the coffee was warm and she gave myself and my brother a lemon each. Any idiot knows that lemon does not go with coffee and my brother did not ask for a lemon. I looked past the lemon asking the attendee for a fresh cup of coffee. The waitress took exception of my request and the manager responded. The identified female manger appeared to be also out of sought for the position, as she stood in front of our table with hand on her hip defiantly.. The manager instead of getting fresh coffee wanted to argue that she in fact saw the waitress make the fresh coffee. If the waitress did make the coffee fresh she would said so from the beginning . After that we did not chance the beverages, We did place our orders, after 30 minutes , we did not chance what may have been in our food. This the first time something like this have ever happened. Read moreI came in the restaurant, there wasn't anybody in the front to greet or sit us. We waited 10 mins to even be asked if we wanted seats. We finally sat down. Wife and I were looking at the menu and waited for a waiter to even say "Hi" to us. The waiter assigned to our section kept passing us back and forth and we had made eye contact numerous times, so she knew we were there. A group of 6 came in and were sat at the far corner from us and she directly went straight to them and started serving them drinks. At this pint 25 mins plus the 10 mins in front had passed making it 35 mins without any drinks nor any greetings. The manager was nowhere to be found, I asked for her 3 times and she never came. I am highly upset because the reason we were not served was because my wife is of white skinned and this is a predominantly black restaurant. i get it, she did want to serve us because I am with a white woman. I spoke to the manager after my wife stormed out crying with the kids because she was really looking forward to our dinner date with our kids and then this happened. I really hope corporate take this matter seriously and reprimand the server at the time. Read moreMe and my daughter went there yesterday. I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta while she ordered that all you can eat entrée meal with the refills of any protein. My daughter ordered a second round of a refill that came with shrimp. The manager bought the food over and was extremely rude and made assumptions that That was not right. The table was full and I pulled my daughters plate towards me so she can take my dish and she’s gonna tell us that it was not shareable. I didn’t understand why she was micromanaging the food if it’s all you can eat Andrea that is paid for it’s either it’s being honored or it comes with restrictions. if it does come with restrictions, it needs to be labeled on the menu and on the website if this is a part of the protocol, especially when we were paying for all you can eat entrée that my daughter requested. Then she will go to the waiter and talk About us behind our back like we weren’t listening to her and asking how many did we order. we did not have a great experience the person who is managing the Applebee’s on Springfield and Newark New Jersey is extremely rude and needs proper training and how to deal with customers. If I could rate my experience, it would be a three.
